elcome to Worship!
We believe that God has something to
say to you today and are glad that you are here to share with us as well!
Our prayer room for quiet reflection and reading is off the foyer on the
right, a parents room is on the left and bathrooms are downstairs one level.
A lift is available for those not good on stairs, access through the main worship hall.
Got questions? Like some prayer? Feel the need to talk about life? Interested to engage
more but not certain how to go about it? We are here and happy to connect! Our corps
office is open Monday to Friday so you can drop in and visit us or call and chat. We can
also be contacted via the web and email. salvos.org.au/brisbanecity
We’re here for you.
Partners Together to Reach Others
40 Days of Community is a Corps [church] wide
spiritual journey that helps us to get the most out
of “Doing Life Together.”
In addition to our
special Sunday meetings we encourage you to
journey with us through the daily reflection and
experience community through a “share & care”
or small group experience.
40 Day Devotional
Our corps is part sponsoring a 40 Day Devotional
for everyone so that together we can read and
reflect upon the same Scriptures. [We ask that
you contribute $5 towards their cost of $15] Pick
up your copy today and join in. Today is day 8 and
this week we explore working with others in
reaching out to those who don’t know Christ.
Share & Care
We encourage you to reflect upon the devotionals
and Sunday messages with a few others. Get
together with 2-6 friends over coffee and talk
through what you’ve read & what it means to you.
Small Group Studies
We also have 6 Small Group Studies with
additional teaching to explore with others. A
group meets at the Temple on Wednesday @10am
or you can host your own friends at home or here
at a time that suits you. Each session is based
around a short DVD teaching presentation
followed by discussion & group sharing with
conversation starter questions provided.
Pentecost
Sunday
Today is Pentecost Sunday when we
remember the giving of the Holy
Spirit to all believers as they
gathered together. Just prior to this
day Jesus said that his followers were
to wait here until the Holy Spirit
comes. “But when the Holy Spirit
has come upon you, you will receive
power and will tell people about me
everywhere - in Jerusalem,
throughout Judea, in Samaria, and
to the ends of the earth.” [Acts 1:8]
The Holy Spirit was given so that
believers might go.
When Jesus sent out his believers they
went in pairs. [Luke 10:1-16]
Partners Together into the world to
declare and demonstrate the love of
God. Over this next week will we
reflect upon ways in which we can
reach out to others, with others.
Working together to show hospitality,
acceptance, build friendships, provide
help. Partners together.
How are you working with other
believers? What help do you need?
Come Holy Spirit, equip US for the
task so that all may hear about Jesus.
