The book notes that the design was copied from one by M.H. Baillie Scott
While this model is traditionally attributed to Harvey Ellis, two articles by David Cathers suggest
that LaMont A. Warner, who was a student of Arthur Wesley Dow at the Pratt Institute of
Brooklyn, was likely strongly influenced by his teacher and designed the Landscape scenes
which reflect the work of Dow.

Craftsman, ‘Housekeeping in Miniature’, June 1903, which precedes Harvey Ellis’ illustrations
for “An Urban House” which include this settle, in the Craftsman magazine of August 1903.
