At the heart of Océ -developed printers is the Océ Copy Press
system, the only real alternative to electrophotography. The Océ
Copy Press System incorporates the best of both worlds i.e. the
combined advantages of offset and electrophotographic technology.
The superb image quality closely resembles that quality acquired
from offset. Users of the Océ Copy Press systems are able to provide
their clients offset quality at the speed of digital. So ensuring very

The Océ Copy Press system is unique and offers a real

1 LED Printhead
The Bar charges the Organic Photo Conductor with the
latent image. This is by far the safest and most accurate
methodology to create a latent image on a photoreceptor belt.
The LED bar forms the image that will be transferred via the
transfer belt to the paper. Reliability is ensured as this solid
state bar has zero moving parts and precisely positions the
image for perfect transfer.

The Use of an organic photoconductor offers:

• Low temperature fusing so you can print on a wider
range of materials. Low temperatures also mean less energy consumption, and no loss in productivity for any media used.

5 Optimized Paper Path
The Océ Copy Press System uses the best feeding assembly
on the market. A unique air knife and vacuum feed ensures
whatever media is chosen the sheet is accurately fed into the
paper path with total confidence. The optimized paper path
has a number of quality checks to ensure that each sheet gets
to the image area at the correct time giving perfect sheet to
sheet registration but again adding significantly to the overall
reliability.
6 Single Corona Unit
The TTF technology, found only in the Océ Copy Press
System is the offset component that actually ‘presses’ toner
into the paper, cleanly and neatly. The toner is warmed to
liquify as the belt travels to the transfer area.
The result is an instantly fused image on the media with
offset quality. Instantly fused media has less consequences
on the media ensuring ultra high feedability and increased
reliability unsurpassed in the industry.
Some CopyPress engines are capable of up to 2,500,000
images between service calls. Furthermore, Océ’s dual-belt
toner-transfer system means the paper never touches the
OPC, so there’s no risk of damaging the carrier.
The Océ Copy Press system only uses one corona unit.
A single corona with environmental filters ensures that there
is negligible emission of ozone, and zero dust ouput ensuring
operators are working in the cleanest environment possible.
A clean environment provides an optimum work area which
can serve to add to client confidence.
Electrophotography, uses several electrical charges at
different places to make a print. Although at acceptable levels
it will cause excess ozone to be placed into the environment.
As acceptable is a subjective element we still see many
operators in electrophotographic environments, complain
about scratchy throats and headaches due to the
concentration of ozone.
