Calling on God Part 4: Jehovah-Rophe
This week we are going to look at the name “Jehovah-Rophe”
(pronounced “Yu-hoe-vuh”). Jehovah-Rophe means “The Lord is my
healer.”0
The Sovereign Lord has filled me with his Spirit. He has
chosen me and sent me to bring good news to the poor, to
heal the broken-hearted, to announce release to captives
and freedom to those in prison. He has sent me to
proclaim that the time has come when the Lord will save
his people and defeat their enemies. He has sent me to
comfort all who mourn, to give to those who mourn in Zion
joy and gladness instead of grief, a song of praise instead
of sorrow. They will be like trees that the Lord himself has
planted. They will all do what is right, and God will be
praised for what he has done. They will rebuild cities that
have long been in ruins. (Isaiah 61:1-4, GNT)
When we speak of “healing” within scripture, we automatically
defer to “physical healing” but, healing is provided for the WHOLE
being: body, soul, spirit, and situation.

God, and do what is right in His eyes, and give ear to His
commandments and keep His statutes, I will put none of
the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am

WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUPPER:

There will be NO meal on Wednesday, March 22 .

Menu for March 29 : Grilled Caesar chicken, roasted new potatoes,
vegetable, salad, roll, and dessert. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for
children, with a single-household family max of $25. Sign up online or in
the fellowship hall by Sunday. Deadline to sign up is Sunday, 03/26!
SPRING BREAK:
There will be no Wednesday night meal or service on Wednesday,
03/22/17 (during spring break). Also, we will NOT have childcare during
the week of spring break this year.
BLOOD DRIVE:
Make plans to help save a life by donating blood! The Blood Mobile will
be at Evangel Wednesday, 03/29/17, from 4:30-8:00.
WOVEN and HONORBOUND:

Join us for food and fellowship on Monday, March 27 . We will meet in
the fellowship hall for a combined meal at 6pm. Childcare will be
provided.
BAPTISMS:
At Evangel, we believe water baptism is a celebration of your decision to
follow Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Just as the symbols of the
wedding and wedding ring are a declaration of a marriage covenant,
water baptism is the outward declaration of the covenant you’ve made
with God. As your church, we would like to stand with you as you publicly
declare you have made the decision to surrender your life to the Lord.
Our next baptism date is Sunday, April 2, 2017.

Please join us each Sunday morning at 8:30 in the MPact room for
corporate prayer.
