MARK RUTHERFORD SCHOOL JOB DESCRIPTION – Raising Achievement Key Worker RESPONSIBLE TO: Raising Achievement Manager JOB PURPOSE: As a designated key worker, support students at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 in completion of their work GRADE: 3a Point 15-18 starting on Point 15 (negotiable depending on experience) 37 hours per week plus 5 training days Actual salary £14,492.21 Main duties and responsibilities: Support for Students To liaise with teachers in order to identify gaps in their learning or missed pieces of coursework/controlled assessments Provide task sheets for each lesson To support individual students to complete their work and action the feedback given To assist pupils with reintegration into lessons Encourage pupils to ask for support and give support where necessary Build positive relationships with students To set a good example to pupils through own presentation and personal and professional conduct Support for Teachers To support departments with underperforming students, with a focus on key groups or individuals To support teachers in establishing and maintaining a purposeful working atmosphere and setting high expectations for students’ work ethic To contribute to developing and implementing of policy and good practice for pastoral and behavioural support which reflects the school’s commitment to high achieving and effective teaching and learning To contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of students’ progress in their achievements through monitoring attendance, meeting deadlines and good communication Working with the SENCO where necessary to ensure all special educational needs are met On occasion, as directed by the teacher, to undertake pastoral and tutorial responsibilities for a group or class of students Support for the School To assist in establishing good relationships with parents and carers and provide information on progress and targets To keep pupil chronologies up to date and an accurate record of work completed To maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of school related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential or sensitive information To undertake tasks of a similar nature as directed by the Headteacher/RAC manager/RAC Assistant manager September 2016
