The one thing that we are still talking about and that really sticks out to me happened in court. Baron Ullrich had asked for a place on the docket. Our herald had listed him as one of the first to be called up. We had no idea what he wanted as he approached us we saw he was carrying a fairly large basket, piled high on it were what looked like clothing. When he arrived to us Barbary looked at him and asked" You brought us your laundry?" At that point I thought not only myself but his Majesty and I were going to fall out of our thrones. It turns out he was just handing off some tabards. I would rather go to any extreme than suffer anything that is unworthy of my reputation, or of that of my crown. - Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603) St. Patrick’s Day Parade Saturday, March 13, 2010 (Scranton) Greetings good gentles from these Sylvan lands. This year marks the Barony of Endless Hills 13th year of participation in the Scranton PA. St. Patricks day Parade. Saturday March 13, 2010 (AS XLIV) we will be gathering by noon at the parking lot located at: The other standout that occurred Was the Singing of the shark song and the Sea monkey song for our rogue . Her Majesty was involved and had even been taught the song earlier in the day. She wanted to sing it . To have Lord Po stand to stand there and endure more embarrassment while we all sang with Her Majesty was another stand alone moment. The present of the picture of the sea monkey at the end of the verse said it all. Scranton Primary Health Care 959 Wyoming Ave Scranton, PA 18509 The whole day was "FUN" Thank you to everyone in our Barony Baron Gunnarr to don armor, carry banners, ride horses, and generally have a great time interacting with the populace of the Electric City. Ok- a *few* memorable moments from Fasching... (by no means a 'top 5'- but these come close.....) Crossing blades with Her Majesty. This demo is to show support for the Scranton chamber of commerce and that "little bit of Irish" in all of us. It doesn't matter if you have "real" Irish in you or not. we welcome you one and all to join us for the fun. We are asking for anyone who can walk, carry a big stick, wield a sword, ride a horse, or can sit atop a float and wave at the parade goers as we drive by, to join us. (of course Equestrians, Rattan combatants and Fencers must be authorized prior to the day of the parade) Watching Brother Will get not one.. but *two* battlefield commissions. The whole 'Letter of Marque" schtick- but particularly presenting Her Majesty of the East with the stuffed dog… The Marshmallow plaque. The occurrence of the word "Trepidation" in court- and the 10 minutes immediately following.... For more information please contact the Demo coordinator: Eirik Goransson (Rob Baldassano) 570-332-6193. 2450 Alberdeen Road, Mountain Top, PA 18707, or our Seneschal Juliana Woolworth (Mary-Frances Rigelwood) 14 William Street Avoca, Pa. 18641, 570-262-1405, [email protected]. (... but how can I not also add Stef's Proposal? or Nishka's Ambush? or that damned bell? or the bardic?...or... or... or...) Equestrian activities will be coordinated via Baron Gunnar (Dave Gable) RR 2 box 501 Dalton Pa. 18414 570-563-1684 [email protected] Po My 'moment' was finally seeing my daughter, Cael, sharing her gift of song with others. Up until the moment she actually began singing, she was adamant not to do so. My heartfelt thanks to those of you at our table who kindly traipsed outside to a quiet corner and listened to Cael perform - not once but twice - and gave her the confidence to perform in the hall. If not for you, she would not have done so. Good Friends and Good Stories A feast is borne Failend By able hands A moment I shan`t forget too soon… Is when His Excellency Gunnarr proceeded to smash me back onto the kneeling cushion right after our Oath of Fealty… Amdist the tables Of the Lord’s Hall Merriment and And my other favorite moment(s) were when the Populace of Endless Hills proceeded to regale the assembled with their vast collection of bardic offerings during the feast..what talent! what laughter! what a tummy-ache from laughing too hard... Good stories Fill the crowded room Fresh from tourney Baroness Barbary Rose Warriors relish For me it would have to be when Sir Murdoch approached Will Deth on the list field, as the Crown and Herald looked on, and ordered Will to remove his helmet and hand it to Sir Murdoch. Will kept saying "What did I do? What did I do?" and then Sir Murdoch directed him to face the Crown and the Herald called out that court was now in session, and proceeded to award Will Deth his imho long-overdue Award of Arms, much to those of us who were looking on's delight. Tales of deeds Past and present To Warm the soul And lift the hearts Of gentles all Septimus Severius Salvatoriensis Caecus Kateryna ran into the kitchen at started to pull me away from whatever chore I was working on at the moment and exclaimed "You've got to see this!". I ran out to the hall quickly only to hear "Ian is getting his Zule!". Although I only got there in time to see the very last part of him receiving the award, nothing does my heart prouder than seeing one of my sons getting recognized for the service he has given. by Thomas, The Beekeeper Art Credits This month’s cover is A Concert by Lorenzo Costa c. 1485-1495 image ©Dover Publications, used with permission.
