PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
The Portland Roadster Show is
over for another year. There
were a lot of very nice cars
there, and it was a huge success.
A big ‘thank you’ to all of the
RCC members who volunteered.
Let’s hope for some more sunny
weather, so we can get the cars
out more.
Every one start
thinking of a Bumper-to-Bumper
cruise. One of the Rose City
Classics target events is NSRA
at the Clark County Fairgrounds
June 28-30.

success of the Roadster Show. There is an
NSRA event in Ridgefield June 28-30, with a
potluck for RCC members at Joe & Laura’s on
Saturday; there is, also, a tea for women. See
the calendar for many others.

The Ray Hickey Hospice House was represented by
Marc Berg and Sonya, who gave out thank-you letters
and plaques to the club—RCC, and to Pat & Dana
McGraw, Vern & Mary Balkowitsch, and Donna & John

posters and were very impressed with our club.

Please call her for more information.
SUNSHINE COMMITTEE: Nancy Baldwin reported
we had a very healthy month with nothing being sent
out. PLEASE remember to let Nancy or any board
member know when someone in the club may need to
be remembered!! Thanks.
NEW MEMBERS: Laura reported that we had
Sheilah & Daryl Smith, who joined tonight. Another
new member, who joined last month, was here tonight—Dan Dearling. Holly Anderson ( Cindy & Larry’s
daughter) and her friend, Nick Sausville, joined but
were not present.
Donna’s quilt is finished and RCC will be selling tickets for $5 per ticket with the proceeds going to the
club. Tickets can be purchased now and will continue
until the Wooden Chicken event, when the winning
ticket will be drawn.
Michael J. Fox sent a thank-you for our donation in
Carole Adams’s sister’s name, after she passed away.

The 57th Annual PRS has come and gone for another year, again a huge
success. We had 420 vehicles and 120 vendors participating in the “only
all-volunteer-supported show in the country”. Accolades continue to roll in for
the third year at the EXPO Center, from move-in & set-up to tear-down &
move-out. The attendance gate was over 31,800, the highest gate in the
modern era of the show. RCC cars entered includedTony Potts’s ‘56 Chevy
(1st Place in his class) Mitch & Ramona Sott’s ‘33 Chevy (2nd Place in their
class) and John & Susie Custer’s ‘57 Chevy. The show closed at 5PM this year,
a first.
Two local folks were inducted as Honorary Members of the
Hall of Fame: Keith Presky (Pharoahs Club) and Mike Conn (NW Lowriders Club).
I cannot thank enough those who voluteered (you know who you are) and ask if
more club members would consider volunteering in the future. We needed
more help every day after 4PM. Mark your calendars for next year’s show:
March 14-17, 2014.
