Guidelines
SFEEF Grant Committee reviews and evaluates all proposals. They will consider all projects with
educational content.
Not all members of the Grant Committee and Judges are educators, so avoid educational (or any) jargon.
Review your grant carefully with the student/s and be sure that each portion is completed.
Be sure your budget is clear and understandable. Funds must be spent as stipulated in the proposal
budget. All expenditures must be supported with receipts. Any undocumented expenditures will be
treated as compensation to the teacher and may be reported to the IRS by SFEEF audit requirements.
Funds must supplement, not replace, state or local funds; funds cannot be used to compensate teachers
or other Spanish Fort school staff.
New and continuing projects will be considered.
If a request is for something already available at the school please include an explanation as to why
additional materials are being requested.
Proposals must be signed by the educator, student and the school principal.
If a teacher’s position or school changes, the award may become invalid. The educator must contact
SFEEF if there are any changes.
Grants previously submitted and NOT funded may be resubmitted if desired.
Hard copies of the grant application will be distributed to all schools.
Proposals must be received, to the principal, by US Mail or hand delivered by February 12, 2015 at 4:00
p.m. No exceptions!
Teacher Mini Grant Applicants will be notified of grant approval by March 31, 2015. After the funded
project is completed, a one page narrative by the winning educator must be submitted by Sept. 1, 2015.
It should include information about the project, any data collected regarding instruction, a recount of the
budget and an evaluation of classroom success. Photos must be included.
Faxes or emails are not accepted.
Teachers must have the grant monies spent and accounted for by May 31, 2016.
