Make your own sidewalk chalk, garden stone, and scratch and sniff artwork. These are just some of the concoctions your scientist will make as they spend each day on a separate theme and spark their imaginative learning. Children will also spend 60 minutes each day in cooking class. Each day they will learn about a new food group and its nutritional value. Students will discover what they can make from collage material, paint, and a variety of other mediums. The young artists will generate masterpieces that reflect their imagination and creative genius. Tuesday, June 10 Monday, June 23 TUITION: $17.00 9:30-11:30 a.m. PIRATE TREASURE HUNT Come be a pirate with us for a day! We will search for Captain Kidd's treasure with a patch on our eye. Pirates will search for treasure, design a treasure map, play Pirates of the Caribbean, walk the gangplank and munch on "X" marks the spot cookies and crocodile brew after finding Captain Hook's crocodile. Wednesday, June 11 Thursday, July 3 TUITION: $17.00 9:30-11:30 a.m. HOT WHEELS Vroom! Vroom! Participants in this class will make their own hot wheels and design their own license plate. The water table will become a car wash for the day and we will crank up the music and drive our cars to the beat. They will make and eat a Hot Wheel. Thursday, June 12 TUITION: $17.00 9:30-11:30 a.m. CHEFS IN THE KITCHEN We know from experience that kids are fascinated by cooking. Kids will go outside to make mud pies then clean up to make an edible pie in the kitchen. Chefs will decorate their own aprons and toques (chefs hats) as they create their own tasty treats. Friday, June 13 Wednesday, June 25 TUITION: $17.00 9:30-11:30 a.m. COOKING AND SCIENCE CONCOCTIONS June 16-20 MTWTHF (See description June 2-6) POWDER PUFF PARTY Girls come dressed up. They will put on makeup and have a fashion show. These young ladies will learn simple modeling moves, talk about manners, and have a tea party. Each girl will design and make a hat for the fashion show. Parents are invited to return for the fashion show. Monday, June 16 TUITION: $17.00 9:30-11:30 a.m. SCIENCE TIME AND BUBBLE FESTIVAL Our science activities will be designed to emphasize the process involved in making scientific discoveries. We will work together to encourage children to find out "why" about all that they observe. The Bubble Festival is back by popular demand! We will decorate a huge bubble, make bubbles and bubble blowers, do a bubble picture, learn about soap bubble magic and bubbling volcanoes. They will snack on magic cookies and disappearing juice. They will be entertained by a real magician and learn several of his tricks. Spend a morning doing creative and exciting activities with all your favorite Lion King characters. We’ll make a Simba puppet, move to the music of Lion King with our jungle streamers, play animal games, snack on Rafiki’s favorite treats and laugh like a hyena. Thursday, June 26 TUITION: $17.00 9:30-11:30 a.m. SUMMER FUN Kids in Summer Fun will spend two fun filled hours working and playing each day on activities designed around a special theme. The children will take part in music activities, an art project, prepare a snack and listen to a story based on a particular theme. There will also be time for free play in a playroom too! Two weeks of different daily themes include: A Day at the Beach, Dog Days, July Celebration, Butterflies, and Vacation to Hawaii. You may sign up for one or more of these days. July 7-July 11 MTWTH or F July 14-July 18 MTWTH or F 9:30-11:30 a.m. TUITION: $17.00 per child per day AGE GROUP CAMPS HOP, SKIP, AND JUMP Come and see how many ways our bodies can move. We will stretch before hop, skip and jumping our way into new games and activities. We will be using basketball hoops, the balance beam, and making our own stilts. Friday, June 27 TUITION: $17.00 9:30-11:30 a.m. OLYMPIC GAMES We have Olympic fever at GBH! At this party your child will participate in the 10-yard dash, long jump, Frisbee toss, Olympic obstacle course, nerf ball toss, javelin throw, and three-legged race. At the end of the games we will have a medal award ceremony and all contestants will snack on champion popcorn and hero drinks. (We encourage all Olympians to come dressed in red white or blue gym clothes.) A few of the activities kids will be involved in include painting with berry cartons, making root beer floats, painting rainbows, and listening to great books. Your kids won’t want this week to end. July 7-11 MTWTHF For children having one year before kindergarten 9:30-11:30 a.m. TUITION: $70.00 CAMP #3 A young dinosaur lovers delight! Come and learn about a different dinosaur each day. Become involved in hands-on activities. Our young paleontologists will design a dinosaur T-shirt, construct a dinosaur mobile and devour “dinosaurs in the forest.” July 14-18 MTWTHF before kindergarten 9:30-11:30 a.m. TUITION: $70.00 For children having one year CAMP #4 Students will work all week adding to a dinosaur landform. They will learn about herbivore and carnivorous dinosaurs. Each day they will create a different dinosaur snack -from bones, to sediment slush.
