GIRLS STATE PLATFORMS
“LESSONS IN LIVING”
80, 800, 8,000 – This nationally known speaker and
author from Youngstown, Ohio reaches audiences of all sizes.
Unforgettable Lessons in Living are the result of growing up
with deaf parents, teaching, and marriage to a prominent
politician, and raising eight children. All groups, especially
teenagers, educators, and women are profoundly affected by
her message that is shared with over 1900 groups long after Pat
leaves the platform.
Pat Vivo is the only woman in Ohio to be inducted into the
CPAE (Council of Peers Award for Excellence) Speaker Hall of
Fame. The CPAE is the academy award of the speaking profession. She has been a member of National Speakers Association
since 1979, and received her CSP (Certified Speaking
Professional) designation in 1988. She is one of only 18 women
in this Association (which boasts a membership of 4100 from 21
countries) to hold both the CSP and CPAE. Pat has been a charter member of her NSA Ohio chapter and has served two terms
as president. She also serves on the board of directors of the
National Speakers Association.
Pat was the first woman elected to the Mahoning County
Educational Services Center governing board that serves 11
local school districts. She has been re-elected to her fourth
term and is currently the president of the Mahoning County
Career and Technical Center, which serves 13 school districts.
She is the author of “Turn Right at the Next Corner,” which
was published in 1991, and the second edition was printed in
1996.
Your speaker today lays down the truth, one sentence after
another. With candor, humor, and compassion she opens her
heart and life to all of us. Be prepared to ride an emotional
roller coaster as Pat Vivo helps us to “Turn Right at the Next
Corner”.

Do You Miss Mom?
Is that phone growing out of your ear?
Are your hands broken? Pick it up yourself! I’m
not your maid!
Close the door! You don’t live in a barn!
A little soap & water never killed anybody.
Am I talking to brick wall?
Do you think I’m made of money?
As you live underneath my roof,
you’ll do as I say!
Tired! How can you be tired at your age?
You’re not sugar -- you won’t melt!
Are you going out dressed like that?
Call me when you get there so I know you’re
okay – I love you!
