Survey submission 140 Name: Anonymous 1. Do you have children living with you? Sometimes 2a. What actions could be taken to reduce marketing of unhealthy food and drinks at the following locations? businesses like supermarkets, shopping centres, cinemas, restaurants/cafes including quick service outlets, licenced clubs and hotels? After attending some movies aimed at a younger market in cinemas around Canberra this year, I was quite stunned at how many liquor ads were run at the beginning of movies. When watching a movie aimed at an adult crowd, that is one thing but they are often played before children's movies now too. I contacted Dendy with my concerns they said they played the same standard ads at the beginning of every movie not matter what was being shown or what the rating of the movie was. There were at least 2 liquor shops ads during the previous and it really isn't necessary to push this at children in public. The children in the cinema looked to be between 3 and 8 years old, and there were more kids than adult present. I don't see why these type of ads need to be shown to them at all. Should be shown in a more age appropriate film. 2b. What actions could be taken to reduce marketing of unhealthy food and drinks at the following locations? - sporting clubs and organisations (including through sponsorship)? These are all pretty mild, I have no issues with the ads but feel more could be done to promote responsible behaviour, especially in regards to Coward punches and brawling. 2c.What actions could be taken to reduce marketing of unhealthy food and drinks at the following locations? - ACT Government venues (such as GIO Stadium, Manuka Oval and Exhibition Park) and events?
