What’s Expected: All day campers are expected to have fun! Day campers are expected to be polite to others, be truthful, treat others and property with respect. Day campers are expected to remain with the group at all times. Day campers are expected to obey your leader at all times. Day campers are expected to bring a nutritious lunch and 2 snacks (fridge & microwave are accessible to campers). Water is provided. Boomerang snack / lunch policy in effect – all items that arrive at camp go home each day including garbage, recyclables & uneaten items. Day campers are expected to wash their hands before each meal and snack (we do not share water bottles, drinks or food brought from home). Day campers are expected to make sure meals and snacks are Nut free. Day campers are expected to wear appropriate clothing (footwear suitable for running, walking, jumping, clothes for air-conditioned indoor facilities as well as outdoor play, a hat, bathing suit and towel). Day campers are expected to put on sunscreen at home before coming to camp and may want to pack extra sunscreen and insect repellant in their belongings. Day campers ages 8 & under are expected to wear lifejackets at swim time (required). Day campers are expected to leave all valuables / electronics at home. Algonquin Highlands will not be responsible for lost or stolen items. Day campers are expected to notify the rec centre by 9am if they will not be attending. If we don’t hear from you by 9am your spot may be given away. Cancellations are subject to a 15% administration fee. The following behaviours will not be tolerated or accepted: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Throwing sand, rocks, dirt, sticks etc. Hitting, rough-housing, pushing, play fighting, pinching, spitting, biting, hair pulling, scratching, etc. Damaging or defacing public property. Consequences of unacceptable behaviour: The consequence will be determined by the child's age and the nature of the unacceptable behaviour. Suspension from camp for remainder of current week. Permanent suspension from the day camp program.
