PERTH exploration company
Tychean Resources will begin
its first NT gold drilling in
March near the West Australian border, 600km northwest
of Alice Springs.
Tychean Resources also has
two active exploration projects
near Kambalda, WA. The
company’s previously successful projects include the discovery of the Callie Gold
Deposit, now operated by
Newmont. The company will
also explore for uranium.
MORE than 50 per cent of
young people with asthma will
also be affected by mental illness, a new study has found.
Asthma Australia released
the National Young People
and Asthma Survey this
month.
The results were based on
the responses of 533 young
people aged 12 to 25. It found
more than half were likely to
have a mental health issue,
compared to 25 per cent of the
general population.
Asthma affects one in 10
Australians and can be managed by medication.
However, the survey found
that 63 per cent of young
people poorly controlled their
condition.

respiratory condition when
she is ill and rundown.

RESOURCES, engineering
and construction hiring will increase in Australia this year,
according to the 2015 global
salary survey from specialist
recruitment consultancy Robert Walters.
The survey is based on real
placements made by Robert
Walters consultants.
It found that residential and
commercial construction will
increase significantly and lead
the market to return to talentshort status.
In resources, operations
and maintenance for major liquefied natural gas projects will
dominate staff demand and in
mining, there will be a marked
rise in positions for mine planners, operations engineers and
contracts specialists.

Asthma Australia chief
executive Mark Brooke urged
doctors and parents of young
people to educate them on the
importance of regular preventive medications.
