The company will also explore for uranium. MORE than 50 per cent of young people with asthma will also be affected by mental illness, a new study has found. Asthma Australia released the National Young People and Asthma Survey this month. The results were based on the responses of 533 young people aged 12 to 25. It found more than half were likely to have a mental health issue, compared to 25 per cent of the general population. Asthma affects one in 10 Australians and can be managed by medication. However, the survey found that 63 per cent of young people poorly controlled their condition. Alice Springs resident Kate Dobie has attempted to establish an asthma sufferers support group.
