Grouping Animals - Oxford University Museum of Natural History

Grouping Animals
There are all kinds of animals on display in the Museum. To help us
understand them we try to sort them into different groups. Look at these
animals and ask yourself these questions:
Does it have a skeleton on the outside or on the inside?
Where does it live - on the land or in water?
Does it lay eggs?
What skin covering does it have - feathers, fur or scales?
What type of animal do you think it is? - a bird, mammal, reptile, amphibian, fish or
invertebrate (invertebrates are animals without a backbone)
