RESIDENT’S REVIEW A Pu b lic at i o n for the R e s i de nt s of 200 We st A p ar tm e n ts May/June 2012 PROJECTS IN 2012 Lunch & Learn We have several Lunch & Learns scheduled for May and June. On May 2, Anchor Health Care will be here presenting “Healthy Living. On May 23, HCR will present “Planning Ahead” with James White. On June 20, HCR will be here to present “Allergies”. All speakers will start at 11:30 am with lunch. SAFETY FIRST For the safety of everyone we request that you do not let anyone you do not know into the building. This includes buzzing someone in, letting a stranger follow you in and propping an entrance door open (which allows people without keys to get into the building). There is NO SOLICITING allowed in the building. DO NOT LET STRANGERS INTO THE BUILDING! SPRING IS HERE! Open your patio door and bedroom windows! Everyone would love some fresh air! Just remember this does make your front door slam, so close it cautiously! GRILLS ARE OPEN We provide the wire brushes so you can keep the grates clean. ♦ When you are done using a grill, make sure the knobs are turned off and lid is closed. ♦ Continued work in the garage. ♦ Wash garage levels. ♦ Fixing/Filling holes in parking lots. ♦ The pool area: re-glaze pool in fall/winter. ♦ Continue enhancing landscaping throughout the property. LAUNDRY ROOM Residents are responsible for: ♦ The proper amount of liquid laundry soap to be used in the washing machine. Check if your soap is concentrated or not. LESS IS ALWAYS BEST! ♦ Liquid fabric softener will help cut down on suds in the washing machine. Sheets of fabric softeners are only for dryers. ♦ Cleaning up any spills that may have happened. ♦ Empty the lint filter in your dryer. ♦ Reporting any problems with the machines to the office. Please be specific! ♦ * The grills are available daily and turned off every evening at 10 P.M. PARTY ROOM The Party Room is rented often. We need to provide parking spaces for guests. Please use your garage space, and if you use the handicapped spaces make sure you share and remember to post your handicapped tag sign.. They are provided for everyone to use, even guests. A quick note: toilet bowl refreshers and sanitizers which remain in the tanks or bowls have a bad effect on the building pipes and parts in the tank. Please save your money. If you would like to use a greener product, use a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. From our Maintenance Techs: Notify us early if you suspect a problem with your drains, water running, toilets, faucets, etc. ♦ Run ice in your garbage disposal, this will help with any smells and keep the blades tight and clean. ♦ Run your dishwasher at least 2X a month to prevent motors from breaking and food sitting in pipes. ♦ Please put only appropriate items down your disposal. List provided in the office. ♦ THE BIRDS & THE BEES? Let the office know immediately if you have bees, wasps, or birds making a nest or hive anywhere near your suite.
