Information regarding The General Municipal Pension System State Aid Program
2016 State Aid Unit Value Released
2016 State Aid Unit Value = $4,374.65
The 2016 unit value, is an 11.6% increase from the 2015 value of $3,920.83.
The Department of the Auditor General determines the State aid unit value
annually. This determination is based on the number of units certified by all eligible
municipalities and total amount of aid available.
Each non-uniformed participant certified on Form AG-385 is worth one unit while
each uniformed participant certified on Form AG-385 is worth two units.
It is our understanding that State aid checks should be distributed to municipalities by
the end of September.
