Explore SPAIN May 31, 2016 – June 30, 2016 Take part in a month-long study abroad program to Spain, May 31 – June 30, 2016, with a focus on Spanish language and culture, in cooperation with Sol Education Abroad. Fly direct to Granada, one of the hippest, most youthful cities in Spain, located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains and only one hour from the Mediterranean coast. Participants will enjoy weekend excursions to Seville and Córdoba, as well as excursions to explore mountain villages and relax for a day at the coast on Nerja Beach. During the week, participants will take Spanish courses at the appropriate level at the University of Granada’s Center for Modern Languages. Participants live with host families in Granada, in order to gain additional insight into Spanish culture while enjoying home-style Spanish cooking Known for the historic influence of the Islamic culture on its art and architecture, Granada is also the site of the A lhambra, a world-famous Moorish palace. Week-day cultural activities include options such as guided walking tours of diverse, historic neighborhoods, including the A lbaicín and Realejo, a guided tour of the A lhambra, visiting the Arabic Tea House, horseback riding, Flamenco dance class, movie night, and enjoying the Arabic Baths. Study in SPAIN May 31, 2016 – June 30, 2016 The total program cost is $5,800 and includes: Round trip airfare to Granada, Spain; Home stays in Granada (including weekday meals with families); Class excursions, including to Seville and Córdoba; and Weekly cultural activities in Granada. Program fees are based on a realistic estimate of participants. The cost may change if the exchange rate and/or airfares fluctuate or if the minimum number of participants is not achieved. Payments due: $200 non-refundable deposit with application; $2,000 due by December 1, 2015; $2,000 due by February 28, 2016; and $1,600 due by April 15, 2016.
