Own a piece of sports history. These authentic benches are a collectors
and enthusiasts dream. California Memorial Stadium opened in 1923
at 71,799 seats and was regarded as the largest stadium in Northern California. The stadium was originally created in memorial to Californians
who fought and lost their lives in World War I. The stadium hosted the
1982 game between Berkeley and Stanford that featured “the Play”.
To compliment these collector’s items is a vintage photograph from
the November 28, 1928 Big Game. Cal was 6-1-1 and Stanford was 7-3.
The winner would go to the Rose Bowl. As it turned out, the Bears and
Cardinals tied 13-13 allowing Cal to advance to Pasadena.
