Oahu is home to well-known destinations such as; Waikiki beach, Honolulu, and the North Shore. MCB Hawaii includes seven different locations throughout the state. Most of our families are stationed at either Kaneohe Bay or Camp H. M. Smith. Kaneohe Bay is located on the Windward side of Oahu, while Camp H. M. Smith is located on the Leeward side. The majority of MCB Hawaii families reside on base at Kaneohe Bay. Manana is the housing area for Camp H. M. Smith. While the DOE in Hawaii does not allow families to pre-register their children for school until their arrival, families can update their children’s health records ahead of time. Our recommendation to inbound families is to schedule an appointment for TB tests and physicals, and to ensure immunizations are up to date before moving. During the summer it is often difficult to get a medical appointment at the Base Clinic. For more details about enrollment requirements, health records, and where to download a PDF of the required Student Health Record (Form 14), please see Hawaii School Enrollment Requirements on page 3.
