B Hotels and Resorts completed a total renovation of the iconic 61-year-old Yankee
Clipper hotel as the like-new B Ocean Resort in the heart of Fort Lauderdale.
As one of the few beachfront hotels in the city, B Ocean Resort incorporated historical
elements and blended them to create a more modern, sleek and stylish feel. The entire
hotel, including the lobby, meetings spaces and all 484 guestrooms and suites, is
refreshed with a contemporary, coastal look using hues of blue and grey, dark woods
and subtle prints reminiscent of the local endangered sea turtle (the beneficiary of the
brand's B Humane conservation program).
As part of the multimillion-dollar refurbishment, the resort is also introducing a two-story
penthouse with private elevator, kitchenette, separate sitting area and a bedroom with
king-size bed, offering guests exquisite views of the ocean and bustling Fort Lauderdale
Beach.
As a full-service property, B Ocean Resort has partnered with Yes Hospitality Group and
chef and TV personality Ralph Pagano to lead the hotel's food and beverage concepts,
including the Naked Crab, the Salty Siren, the Clipper grab-n-go and the Wreck Bar, a
favorite with locals and travelers since the 1950s. The Wreck Bar was originally designed
to resemble an underwater shipwreck highlighted by its expansive aquariums and
porthole-shaped windows looking into the hotels' main pool. The windows enable the bar
to host the MeduSirena Mermaid Show, a live underwater aquatic performance every
Friday and Saturday night.
