A centre for the support and care of young
people with intellectual disabilities
“Our staff aim to maintain your own
standards of support and care for the
duration of your child’s stay”.
There are regular team meetings for staff to discuss
procedures and practices and the support needs of
each child/young person, to make sure all staff are
working in the same way.
Staff are encouraged to take part in ongoing training
to develop their skills and knowledge.
There is adequate staff to provide a safe and secure
stay at a Respite Centre.
When children/young people stay overnight at a respite
centre, staff will always be within hearing distance. They
will stay awake to attend to any needs when necessary.
Every child/young person is allocated a shift key
person, who is responsible for their individual needs
(regular toileting/personal cares, medication, diets).
