Dealership to offer antique cars By Jane Bokun • [email protected]• January 5, 2011 Reggie Collier has always had a passion for antique cars. So much so that he will open a dealership this month selling antique cars on Youree Drive in Shreveport. "Right now he has about seven cars, but we're getting more in every day," said his grandson, Bryan Graves, Collier's Antique Cars assistant manager. Once inside the glass-encased showroom, it's clear these cool cars may sell themselves. He said his grandfather, who also owns Collier Construction, started out as a military policeman and then tuned into his entrepreneurial side. Collier has fulfilled a lifetime dream of selling the antique cars such as a 1973 Mustang that has 14 carat gold adorning its inner works. "We have cars from the '40s and '50s and beyond," Graves said. Graves said the unique Mustang was appraised at $250,000 and will be sold for upwards of $60,000. To pick up extra cars, Collier often travels to car auctions and has bought up jewels like an antique Ford truck. Collier fell in love with the older cars and plans to use the proceeds of Collier's Antique Cars to supplement his retirement. Most of his cars are very valuable and in mint condition. "Stop by and visit our showroom," Graves said. "It's a slice of history." Advertisement
