Appendix 1 – Vendor Specific Features
Pulse supports additional enhanced features for certain Android vendors via a special API. The following facts
apply –
• Manufacturer provides a special API that allows this additional functionality to be enabled.
• Typically these enhanced clients are available from the vendor app stores as opposed to the generic
Android marketplace.
• There are country and carrier specific variations on whether these features will be enabled on smart
devices (phones, tablets etc.). Specific details are mentioned below.
a. Vendor: Samsung
Enhanced Features:
In order to get these features working, one needs to install the Samsung-specific Pulse build (i.e. signed by
Samsung) on a Samsung smart device. These features will not work otherwise.

b. Malicious Application detection and removal (a.k.a App Revocation) (only specific devices
marked with **)

Pulse Mobile Supported Platforms Guide
It is near impossible to keep the various devices, android software version, vendors and country specific features
current with this table. Although all the Samsung devices ship with the API, Samsung constrains the functionality
on certain platforms by the platform (vendor) key that will not recognize the Pulse Secure signing key. Thus as a
rule of thumb, if Pulse can be installed on a given Android device, the enhanced functionality will be available.
