There have also been some changes to our usual day time activities, please check the information provided below and the new calendar for further details. Kind Regards Anita Perrigo CHANGES TO ADINA’S ACTIVITY CALENDAR The Management and Staff at Adina have been assessing the Activity Calendar and have decided to make some changes. There will still be a craft group every Thursday morning from 10:30am until 12:30pm as usual. All other activities have been put on hold at the moment to trial a new program. Staff at Adina will be focusing on In-House activities for a while. This will mean that there will be more activities for the guests who are staying at Adina. We will be having games nights, movie nights and regular activities. The staff at Adina will try to keep activities to a nil cost however occasionally there may be a small cost involved. When this occurs, staff will let guests staying at Adina know prior to their stay. It is not compulsory for guests to attend these activities, however we hope to make your stay at Adina a wonderful experience. We would also like to invite both guests and carers to Adina for a morning tea & chat on the last Tuesday of each month from 10am. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share them with us either in private or at our Tuesday morning tea. page 2 Volume 6, Issue 1 ARAFMI CARER WORKSHOPS Arafmi Qld Inc provides upcoming carer workshops Friday 8 March - EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION 9am to 12:30pm at New Farm Tuesday 19 March - FIT FOR CARING 9am to 12:30pm at New Farm Wed 3 April - UNDERSTANDING & SUPPORTING RECOVERY 9am to 12:30pm at New Farm Saturday 13 April - SUICIDE AWARENESS 9am to 12:30pm at New Farm Monday 22 April - COPING SKILLS 9am to 12:30pm at New Farm Wednesday 1 May - BOUNDARY SETTING 9am to 12:30pm at New Farm Friday 17 May - EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION 9am to 12:30pm at New Farm Friday 31 May - DUAL DIAGNOSIS/MENTAL ILLNESS & SUBSTANCE USE 9am to 12:30pm at Adina Saturday 8 June - LOSS & GRIEF 9am to 3pm at New Farm Friday 14 June - FIT FOR CARING 9am to 12:30pm at New Farm Monday 24 June - DUAL DIAGNOSIS/MENTAL ILLNESS & SUBSTANCE USE 9am to 12:30pm at New Farm To register or for more information call ARAFMI on: (07) 3254 1881, or e-mail: [email protected] WELL WAYS BUILDING A FUTURE Well Ways aims to increase the capacity of families and friends to care effectively for themselves, other family members and their relative living with mental illness.
