Overview 5 © 2011 Office Gemini Dokmee Page Counter 1 Dokmee Page Counter 1.1 Overview 3 You can use the Dokmee Page Counter to perform a count on TIFF, PDF and JPEG file formats. Files and folders can be selected from a local hard drive as well as network drives. The results will be assorted according to size within the counter. You can view the results in U.S. customary system and Metric system units and save a report as an excel spreadsheet. In addition to Document and Page total, you can view the number of Black/White, Grayscale and Color images counted and their associated length. 1.2 Performing a count To start a count you must first select the respective checkbox of the folder location containing the images. If you would like to include images in sub folders you can select the option and then select the parent directory. You can also select multiple individual folders to count from. All images that will be counted will display in the pane to the right of the tree. Select begin your image count. 1.3 to Viewing the results After the count has completed, the results will display within the four tabs inside the counter. You can select each tab to view the various totals of the counted pages. Additionally, you can view the results in a report format at the bottom of the counter. The Inches Totals tab displays the Grand Totals of all the documents and pages counted. This tab also lists the U.S. customary paper sizes of the documents counted. Depending on the page, it will fall into the category of Letter Size, Legal Size, B-Size, C-Size, D-Size, E-Size, Larger than E and Smaller than Letter. Within these categories it will be counted as a Black/White, Grayscale or Color page and then © 2011 Office Gemini 4 Dokmee Page Counter display the length of those pages respectively. The lengths of those different color documents will then be added together and displayed as the Total Length. The Metric A Series, Metric B Series and Metric C series tabs display the paper sizes in the metric system. The pages will first fall into either Size 0, Size 1, Size 2, Size 3, Size 4, Size 5, Irregular Size, Smaller than Size 5 or Larger than Size 0. It will then be further separated into A, B or C series depending on the closest match. Within these categories it will be counted as a Black/White, Grayscale or Color page and then display the length of those pages respectively. The lengths of those different color documents will then be added together and displayed as the Total Length. 1.4 Saving the results Once the results have been viewed, you can save the report as a .CSV by selecting the button and choosing a location. After saving, browse to this location and double click the file to open the spreadsheet. 1.5 Clearing the results When you are ready to begin a new count, you can select to remove the previous count's information. The page counter will remain blank until a new count begins and you can clear the results and begin new counts at any time. 1.6 Registration Dokmee Page Counter offers the user three different methods for activation. If it is your first time using the Dokmee Page Counter, you can select the 30-Day Free Trial. This trial will last for 30 days and limit the user to only ten documents. Once the 30-Day Free Trial has expired, you will have to enter a purchased license key to continue using the product. This can be accessed by selecting Help in the file menu and selecting Registration. If you purchased a license key, you will be able to enter it at any time to activate the counter and have full access to all the programs features. © 2011 Office Gemini Dokmee Page Counter 1.7 5 Language selection The Dokmee Page Counter currently supports English, French, Portuguese and Spanish languages. To switch to another language, select Help from the Page Counter and select your appropriate language. 2 Using the Help Menu 2.1 Help Menu Overview The Help Menu is the window you are currently in. It is used to provide Help that is specific to the Dokmee Page Counter. The window contains three tabs that can be used to view, search and bookmark sections of the Help Menu. At the top of the window you have the option to Hide those three tabs, go Back and Forward, go to Home, Print a selected topic and subtopics and various similar options. Under the Contents tab you can view a tree overview of the topics listed in the Help Menu. To view information on a specific subject simply click on the appropriate topic. The tree can also be expanded or collapsed by selecting + or - to view or hide topics. The Search tab allows you to search for specific words or phrases within the Help Menu. Type in a word or phrase and select enter or List Topics to begin the search. If that word(s) is found within the Help Menu, the results will display in the right pane. At the bottom of the search tab you also have the options to Search previous results, Match similar words and Search titles only. With the Favorites tab you can save searches as topics. If a word(s) is found it will display in Favorites and you have the option to add that topic at the bottom of the tab. All added topics will be viewable under Topics and you have the options to remove or display a saved topic. © 2011 Office Gemini
