THE IUCN RED LIST OF THREATENED SPECIES™ Taxonomy Kingdom Phylum Class Order Family Animalia Arthropoda Insecta Odonata Gomphidae Taxon Name: Microgomphus lilliputians Fraser, 1925 Taxonomic Notes: The male of Microgomphus lilliputians is unknown. Assessment Information Red List Category & Criteria: Data Deficient ver 3.1 Year Published: 2009 Date Assessed: June 11, 2007 Justification: Microgomphus lilliputians is known only from a single female with no indication of habitat and only vague information as to the type locality. Geographic Range Range Description: Microgomphus lilliputians is known only from Tennasserim in Myanmar (Fraser 1925, 1934). Country Occurrence: Native: Myanmar © The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species: Microgomphus lilliputians – published in 2009. http://dx.doi.org/10.2305/IUCN.UK.2009-2.RLTS.T163648A5629716.en 1 Distribution Map © The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species: Microgomphus lilliputians – published in 2009. http://dx.doi.org/10.2305/IUCN.UK.2009-2.RLTS.T163648A5629716.en 2 Population Microgomphus lilliputians is known from a single female collected in 1923. Current Population Trend: Unknown Habitat and Ecology (see Appendix for additional information) The habitat and ecology of this species are unknown, but it is reasonable to assume that it is a species of forest streams. Systems: Freshwater Threats (see Appendix for additional information) Habitat loss through human development is a continuing threat to this species. Conservation Actions There is an urgent need for more data on this species. There has been a serious lack of expert sampling in Myanmar, which is likely to be the reason why there have not been more records of this species. Searches need to be made in Tenasserim and adjacent regions. Credits Assessor(s): Dow, R.A. Reviewer(s): Kalkman, V. & Clausnitzer, V.
