The audio file is hosted at the Linguistic Data Consortium (LDC) at the University of Pennsylvania. Please click this link (https://www.ldc.upenn.edu/collaborations/current-projects/hearables-challenge) to access the LDC2017E31 file by following these instructions: You must first print, fill out, and sign the LDC User Agreement. You must return the signed document to LDC either by FAX or by attaching a scanned copy to the email that LDC provides. If you do not already have an LDC user account, you must register for one. Click ‘register’, then click ‘User Login’. Then click ‘Create a new account’ o Read and accept the online user agreement o Provide your contact information and create a password o Try finding your organization name in the field ‘Organization’. If it does not exist, select ‘create your organization’, type the Organization Name and Organization Size. For Organization Type, select ‘Non-member’. Select Visibility and Field of Interest. o Complete the rest of the registration page, then click the Create button. LDC will send you an email after they receive your LDC User Agreement and confirm that you have a LDC User Account. LDC will send you a message indicating that your account is accepted. You may then find the LDC2017E31 file link in the download queue within your LDC account. When signed in to your account, visit ‘My account’, click ‘Downloads’ in the ‘Account Options’, then click the icon to download the file. Save the file (Conv_Restaurant_LDC2017E31.tgz) on your computer. Please note that this is a compressed file. If you are using a Windows computer, you will need an app such as 7-Zip (www.7-zip.org). o (Please note that these directions are specific to 7-Zip. Other applications may have different steps.) Select the Conv_Restaurant_LDC2017E31.tgz file and open with 7-Zip. Click “Extract” and save the file Conv_Restaurant_LDC2017E31.tar. Open this file with 7-Zip again and extract. This will extract the training file (.wav) and instructional text.
