Nambour is the fifth town mentioned in the original (Australian) version of the song "I've Been Everywhere". Cilento Park was occupied by the 7th Battery 2/4th field artillery during World War II before they went to fight in the Syrian campaign in the Middle East. The Cilento's (Sir Ralph and Dame Phyllis) donated the land to the government who turned it into a public park. Sir Ralph and Dame Phyllis are the parents of actress Diane Cilento. Big Things. The Big Pineapple:- Bill and Lyn Taylor opened The Sunshine Plantation to the public in 1971. Their desire was to show case the diverse local produce which included pineapples, macadamia nuts, bananas, citrus and other tropical fruits. Prince Charles and Princess Diana visited the plantation on the 12th April, 1983. The Big Cow:- The Big Cow was part of a tourist attraction called Sunshine Coast Dairy which opened in 1976. The Big Cow was modelled on a Maleny Ayrshire and is five times the size of a normal cow. The cow stands 12 metres high and 7.62 metres long. Closed since the 1980s the buildings have had different uses but the Big Cow remains as a landmark.
