Anne Frank Project Choices

“The Diary of Anne Frank”
Final Project
Due date___________
Follow the directions below. (I will explain each in detail, plus you can also add your own creative
flair, and/or think of your own way to demonstrate your understanding.) Remember, this is a TEST!
Show off as much knowledge as you can about the story of Anne Frank. You may want to include
some details about the Holocaust and/or WWII, as appropriate.
Create a child’s “ABC Book” about Anne Frank’s life. Start with “A is for Anne
Frank.” Include the Letter, the Word that corresponds to the letter, a Picture,
and a caption. You must have at least 15 letters…in order. Creat a cover, too.
Design the front page of a newspaper. Write a news story describing a major
event in the play (perhaps the occupants’ discovery or Otto Frank’s return).
Write a human interest story about one of the characters in the story. Write an
editorial on some controversial issue raised by the play. Include an attention
grabbing headline, newpaper name, appropriate date, and teasers for the rest of
the paper.
Interview Otto Frank. As if you are a talk show host, prepare a series of
questions about events and characters, which of course, Otto Frank answers.
This may be performed in audio or video. Your must turn in your written script,
too.
Compile a scrapbook or a memory box. Choose one of the major characters, and
as that person, put together a scrapbook or memory box of special memories and
mementos. Be true to your character. Each momento needs a caption.
Design a timeline for the events in the play. Include at least 10 important
events and descriptions of who and what was involved. Pinpoint dates, as you can,
and of course, have everything in the correct order. (You can handle the
“flashback” any way you’d like.) Pictures and captions, needed too.
Demonstrate the “Elements of Storytelling” Describe the point of view,
setting, characters (internal and external), plot (exposition, rising action, climax,
falling action), and theme of “The Diary of Anne Frank.” See WB pp _______
Design illustrations for the textbook. Depict at least one picture from each of
the 10 scenes of the play. (Act I, scenes 1-5 Act II, scenes 1-5.) Include a two –
three sentence caption for each illustration.
Create a mural. Depict at least one picture from each of the 10 scenes of the
play. (Act I, scenes 1-5 Act II, scenes 1-5.) I’ll provide the butcher paper. ASK
me AS
Do A) TWO “Open Minds” for two different characters. You must have at least
8 images…words/phrases are a bonus, too. AND B) TWO “Moment In”
