Paper Bag Book Project

Paper Bag Book Project
Due Date: November 4, 2015
Objective:
To design a book project that describes the main character, plot, and setting of a
novel using a paper bag.
Assignment:
After reading a Fictional Novel of your choice that is of an appropriate level for a
literature class, you will complete a paper bag project using the criteria listed
below. Please remember this project is to be completed outside of class.
Criteria:
 On the front panel of your bag, draw your character. The title and author
must also be displayed on the front.
 On one of the side panels, analyze your character using the STEAL acronym.
 On the other side panel, think about how your character would handle one of
the following situations: What would your character do if they found a bag of
money? OR If your character could time travel, what era would they travel to?
Explain
 For the back panel (top), choose one of the following: a summary paragraph
of your novel or changes the character has made throughout the story. If the
character didn't change, you must give evidence to support your thinking. If
the character did change, tell how the character was different and what
brought about the change.
 For the back panel (bottom), choose at least 2 significant quotes from the
book that help describe the character, plot, and/or setting.
 At least ten tangible objects inside the bag (look at the example) with a
brief explanation for each item
 Present the project to the class in a well-prepared presentation. You will
explain who your character is, and what text he or she is from. Briefly explain
your information (do not read your information- just give your class a brief
summary). Show the 10 items in your bag, and tell why they are important to
your character and the story.
