SUBLIMATION TIPS
Sublimation is a process that gasses dye onto something with a polyester coating. As far as garments go, you
really want to use 100% Polyester, White garments. This will NOT work on dark garments or garments without
Polyester. Here are a few tips and tricks to be successful with this type of print.
Apparel
White, 100% Polyester Garments will give best results
400f, 40ish seconds Hotronics 4-5 pressure
Mirrored image is face down
paper, apparel , text print paper , paper ..... No Teflon cover pad
Mist Text Print with Spray adhesive in an empty box to help with ghosting
The paper keeps the ink migration from picking up on either platen
I use TARPON uncoated butcher paper $13.00 1000ft from Sam’s Club
Cotton/Poly blends will also work, but garment might look “faded”
400f, 30 to 35 seconds Hotronics 4-5 pressure
You can burn this type of apparel really easy
Poly Polo with Buttons
Keep buttons off to the side of press. I promise they will melt.
If you have a seam in the apparel, Use a pillow to keep image from separating.
The paper keeps the ink migration from picking up on either platen
I use alcohol to clean platens when some forget to use cover paper.
Metal tags/Cell phone cases/Dog tags/Name tags
400f, 60 seconds
Hotronics 4-5 pressure
Use a Heat conductive cover, Image is on top
Paper, tag, text print paper, paper, conductive pad
Slate on plaques
Paper, slate, text print paper, paper, heat conductive cover
Smaller sizes 410f 8-9 minutes yep 480 -540 seconds, Hotronics 6-7 pressure
Larger Sizes 410f 10-12 Minutes Hotronics 6-7 pressure
Poly Bags
400f 40 second 3-4 pressure
