World BF Week 2015 – Bulletin Board Competition
This year Minnesota WIC is hosting a Bulletin Board Competition for World Breastfeeding
Week (WBW), August 1- 7, and Breastfeeding Awareness Month in August. The theme from
WABA is Breastfeeding and Work: Let’s Make it Work! We’re calling on you to share your
creativity and passion for breastfeeding through an informational, creative bulletin board that
relates to this theme. The board is an opportunity to positively portray breastfeeding as a WIC
service and to build a sense of community.
Submission Guidelines and Rules to Participate:
1. You may submit up to 4 photos showing a) your overall board and b) specific features you
wish to highlight. See below for bulletin board examples.
2. Photos shall be digitally uploaded to MDH File Upload Page See screenshot below for
sample upload page. In #2, “File Recipient,” use [email protected] to
email/send the photos. In #3, write in “Bulletin Board” for identification purposes.
3. MDH reserves the right to use, reproduce, publicize or exhibit submissions in any form of
media or medium. Credit and acknowledgment will be given accordingly.
4. All participants present in any photos and/or whose quotes are used in the board display
must have a signed Release of Information scanned into their HuBERT record.
5. All costs incurred during this competition are to be paid by local agencies and should come
to no more than $20.00 for such things as paper, art supplies, printing, etc. WIC funds may
be used for educational outreach purposes such as this.
6. All entries must be original work and must adhere to copyright laws for text and
photographs/graphics use.
7. Entries will be judged by state staff on the following criteria: educational relevancy,
creativity, and appearance, as outlined in the attached scoring rubric.
8. Take and submit the highest quality photos as possible for the camera being used.
9. Editing of photos for submission (e.g., adjusting color, softening or sharpening the image, or
other digital manipulation of any way) is not recommended.

10. All entries must be submitted by August 7, 2015. Winners will be notified via email—judge’s
decisions are final. Certificates will be issued to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Focus on free and copyright-free printables. Characters and story lines are under the
“Fair Use” exception to copyright laws when used for educational purposes.
