used in place of another, such as He was drowning in money.
Pet Poetry Project Description
Goal: Create two poems based on pets. You may use one of the four types of
poetry listed in your notes.
Materials: four types of poetry notes, pictures, rubric, thesaurus

Requirements:
- 2 poems written about pets using either the photographs provided or your own
inspiration
-Each poem should be a different type of poetry. Use your four types of poetry
notes to assist you.
-You must use at least 1 example of the following items in at least 1 of your
poems.
-Symbolism
-Imagery
-Metaphor
-Simile
-Your poem should meet the requirements for whichever type you create. If you
choose free verse, there are no rules.
-You must follow the writing procedures.
-Brainstorm, Rough Draft, You Edit, Revise, Peer Edit, Revise, Publish
-Use a thesaurus to find better word choice when writing your poem
Presentation: Your presentation may be completed in any manner you chose. If
your presentation requires materials, you must bring them in to use during class.
Do not forget you must present in front of your classmates. Follow the rubric
for all projects.
