POST STRESSING OF DAM
PRIOR TO RAISING
To augment Cape Town's water supply by an
additional 1,400 million gallons, the dam is being
poststressed with high tensile steel cables anchored
into the bedrock, after which a 10 foot retaining
wall can be safely added. This application of the
Coyne System is unique in Southern Africa and is
being executed by:
