to announce the two newest
programs on the spectrum of Aiken
Electric member benefits—Community
Solar and our Outage Texting System.
Our 250-kW solar farm will soon be
under construction on the Savannah
River Research Campus. We are
expecting it to be ready for production
this fall. The facility will produce
around 37,500 kWh per month.
Members will have the opportunity
to lease a portion of the community
solar farm’s generation capacity. Please
contact a representative today to sign

Members can also report outages
with a simple text. Those already in
our database will automatically be
signed up with the mobile number
we have on file. More information on
how new members can opt in, and the
other perks of this program can be
found on page 5.
These programs are only the
beginning of what’s in store at AEC.
We’ll continue to act as stewards of
the environment, while implementing
technologies that increase service,
reliability, and efficiency to ensure
that all of our futures are a little

Reporting an outage has
never been so easy!
Current members
Current members are automatically opted in
through our database. When you experience an
outage, just text “OUT” to our “Lights Out” number
(877-264-5368). You will then be asked to verify
the address, and a crew will be dispatched. It’s
that simple! You can still check the progress of
restoration by visiting our “LIVE Outage Map” at
www.aikenco-op.org. You will receive an alert once
your outage has been restored.
New members
New members can opt in by texting “Aiken” to
our “Lights Out” number (877-264-5368). Then
reply with “OUT” to report your outage, verify your
address, and you’re all done!
