Step 1. Navigate to www.webstore.illinois.edu and click on the personal purchase icon at the top of the page. Step 2. Click on the Microsoft Product Offers link. Step 3. Select the Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus that corresponds with your operating system. Step 4. When you click add to cart, you will be prompted to login with your netID and password to verify that you are a student. After verifying you will simply click on the “Check Out” and pay via credit card. When your payment is accepted you should receive an email confirmation of the purchase containing your serial number to activate your copy of Office. This will also be displayed on the confirmation page on the webstore site as well. Step 5. A 2010 Microsoft Office Wizard window will appear; allow it to process. This procedure will prepare the necessary files to start installing Microsoft Office 2010 on your computer. The Software License Terms window now appears. Read the terms and conditions, check the “I accept the terms of this agreement box” and click Continue. Step 6. The type of installation needed requires customization. Click on the Customize button to proceed. Step 7. The Installation Options tab now appears. Left‐click on the root directory called Microsoft Office. On the drop‐down menu select Run all from My Computer and click on Install Now. Step 8. In the event that Office does not activate, please follow these instructions to manually insert the product key: 




Click on the button to open the Start Menu. Now, click on the Control Panel and then click on Programs (Uninstall a program), and finally click on Program and Features. From the list of installed programs, find Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010, select it and then click on Change. From the newly opened dialog box, select the Enter a Product Key option, and then click Continue. Your product key will be present in the email receipt sent to you by the webstore, and also on your final purchase screen in the webstore. Copy and paste the Product Key and also check the option Attempt to automatically activate my product online to automatically activate your Office 2010 suite. Now click on Continue and then on Install Now. Your product should be activated automatically after these steps.
