It has a lingering Cellar Showing great structure now, it will age beautifully for up to ten years. Winemaker Comments: The wine is a premium selection from our 2003 Pinot Noir. It has had twelve months aging in high quality French oak barrels and a further twelve months in bottle before release. A rich and concentrated wine, it is a unique expression of its variety and origin. It will benefit from at least five years further aging and will drink well for up to ten years after release. This is without doubt the pinot noir with the longest cellaring potential we have made. Showing great structure now it will age beautifully for at least ten years. Growing Season / Vintage Notes: Typical of the season, the Yarra Valley experienced a dry winter, cool spring and early summer with very little rain. The dry conditions were largely alleviated by plentiful supplies of water after the very cool 2002 vintage. Flowering was extremely even with almost perfect conditions and yields were low, sitting very comfortably in the desired range. Pinot Noir was excellent with rich, ripe flavours and with summer quite warm by Yarra Valley standards, this boded well for full-bodied red wines.
