All are welcome to attend. Library of The Chathams is a National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) “Come Write In” space! Participants are challenged to write a 50,000 word novel beginning November 1 and ending November 30. Throughout November the library will be holding designated write-ins every Saturday and Sunday in the Benigno Room for those who wish to work on their novels. Modernizing the Historic Home: Stories from the Field Saturday, November 5 - 2 pm Join local architect Maia Kumari Gilman for an engaging talk about some of the historic homes she has designed in New Jersey. This Maia Kumari interactive program will allow time Gilman for the audience to ask questions about their own homes. Window Treatments for the Home Monday, November 14 - 7 pm Linda Principe, owner of Linda Principe Interiors in Monroe Township, will present a workshop on window treatments that work best for your home. She is active in the Linda Principe Window Coverings Association of America and is past president of its National Board. Batik and Silk Painting Exhibit Opening reception Sunday, November 6 2:15 to 4 pm Ritika Gandhi, a Wayne resident, will display her Indian-inspired batik and silk paintings at the library through November. Preserving Your Family History Saturday, November 12 - 2 pm Stuart Shippey of Chatham will explain how to interview family members to obtain genealogical information. He will also discuss the process involved in recording an oral history to pass down to future generations. November Is NaNoWriMo 2 CALL: Chatham Adult Lifeworks Learning From Saint to Santa Monday, November 28 - 7:30 pm Michael Norris, Ph.D., former art educator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will use art to illustrate how a fourth-century bishop Michael Norris, Ph.D. evolved into one of Christianity’s most beloved saints. A further progression through American art history shows how Saint Nicholas became Santa Claus. This is a free CALL lecture.
