C&W ships MCP-5000 to Diamond Concrete in San Diego, California Sold by Samson Engineering MCP-5000 installed in San Diego. During the month of May, C&W shipped one of the first Modular Cartridge Pulse units to California. This unit features 5000 CFM, 714 sq feet of filtration area, tool-less cartridge exchange, reduced maintenance costs as are Cartridges are 54”, and 99.99% filtration efficiency. Employee of the Month: Office Employee of the Month: For the month of April, Morgan Beakley was voted by her peers as the Employee of the Month. Morgan is the Marketing Director, and has been with C&W for three years. Her main job functions are Dealer Relations, Web Promotion, Brand Management, and Advertising. Congrats Morgan!! For the month of May, Freddie Barella was elected as the Employee of the Month. Freddie works in the Inside and Parts Sales Department, and has been with C&W for nine years. This is his 2nd time to be selected as the EOM! Congrats Freddie!! Industry Update Concrete Prices Hold Steady While Steel, Asphalt Continue Upward Trend Concrete prices in April experienced no change, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Producer Price Index. Steel and asphalt continued to post the largest monthly price increases among building materials in April 2007. Steel prices grew by 4.4% from March to April and asphalt prices were up 1.2% for the month. According to the spring PCA Cement and Construction Forecast, the relative price improvements of concrete compared to other materials that materialized during the fourth quarter of 2006 and has continued through recent data collections will increase national cement intensity in 2007. Cement intensity refers to the tons of cement per dollar of construction activity. During the past year, steel prices have increased 17.1%, asphalt prices, led by increasing oil prices rose, 16% while concrete has seen a relatively modest increase during the last year of 4.6%. New Design Engineering, creating new products, and working on new and interesting big projects for different types of applications. What did you do before joining C&W? Before joining C&W, Robert worked for Clean Air Consultants designing dust collection systems for wet and dry applications. He also worked at RSR for over 9 years with dust control products and waste water treatment when recycling car batteries. Are you working on any big projects at the moment? Besides the Buell Project currently in production, we have an RA-500 set to ship in September for a Sand Drying Rotary Kilm for Sand Express in TX. We ll be providing dust collection for the exhaust on the kilm, which will be 300̊F, which is the hottest application C&W has worked on.
