Prepositions
Prepositions are used with a noun or pronoun (the object of a preposition) to relate that noun to
another sentence part. A prepositional phrase that modifies a noun is adjectival. An adverbial
prepositional phrase functions as an adverb.
There is a plethora of prepositions in the English language. Mastering them is a challenge, because
some prepositions can be used on different words in certain contexts with other meanings. On some
occasions, on the same paper, you can see the same preposition on a regular basis.
