Trina to the General Young Women's offices in the
church office Building down town. She was looking
for varj-ous ideas in the Young women's Resource
Room to help the program be most stimulating for
the girls. There certainly was a ]ot to look at.
Trina was around 16 months at the ti-me and quite
enjoying all the things along with Mom. They
were looking at some large displays which were
placed in a book t-ype mounting on the waII. While
turning the pages, Mom heard Trina say, "Gee, Gee!"
At first it didn't register with Mom just quite
what Trina s/as expressing so she returned to the
previous page. There was a picture of Jesus.
she got very excited and kept pointing to him.
It was good for her to see her special friencl
again so soon after she left him.

The family makes a practice of
visiting the Grandmas and the Grandpas. This
particular Sunday we were visiting with Grandpa
and crandma steffensen. we had a particularly
nice visit. Trina was about 21 months at the
time. She loves to share her kisses and Jugs upon
leaving. Thls particular night she made a great

deal of fuss over Grandpa Steffensen. Everyone
commented on it as it was quite noticeable. In
the niddle of the night, we got a caII from
crandma Steffensen saying that Grandpa Steffensen
was having heart problems and was being loaded into
the ambulance. Later as the family reflected on
crandpa Steffensen and his 1ife, we talked about
the experience between Grandpa and Trina. ft
was like she knew that he would be soon leaving and
she was saying her goodbys a bit early. They
spent some special times together as he would take
her for walks around the yard and house. He really
loved his little
Trina and she loved him iust as much.
Easter 1985 ft was Easter time and we wanted a
nice family home evening lesson to instruct the children
about Jesus and his resurrection. Mother had some
pictures and flannel board figures to assist her. The
children were very quiet as MottFr proceeded to tell
the events of Christ's crucifiction. Trina,s face
became sadder and sadder vrith tears welling in her eyes.
When sl'e heard that christ came alive again, she shouted
for joy and was so happy to know this. ft was a very
moving experience for Mom and Dad to see one so little
so sensitive to this special and most important event.
She has never forgotten that Jesus died but that he also
came alive so that we might live again after we die.

July 6, 1986 It was fast and testimony meeting. Mom
and the kids were sitting in th audience with Dad sitting
on the stand, part of the duty of a 2nd Counselor in the
bishopric. AlI of a sudalen from l,er p1ay, Trina said that
she wanted to bare her testimony. Mother qvlzzed her.as
to what she wanted to say. She mentioned about being
thankful for her family, for the butterflies, for the
beautiful world, for her friends and for Jesus. Sf,e
spoke right up but got a bit nervous and had to rely on
Mom's memory to get through it.
It was a very special
experience for trer family and we're sure for Heavenly
Father and Jesus

ttat Trina had a fever and
)
was realfy quite warm. This is rather
frightening due to Trina's febral seizure
problem. Without Daddy being there to help,
Mom was nervous so she told to Trina that they
needed to kneel down and have a special prayer
to ask for help from Heavenly Father. Having
special prayers isn't anything new to Trina as
and Trina do it quite often sometj-mes at
Mom's request and sometimes at Trina's request.
During the prayer Mom asked for divine entervention i,n Trina's behal-f . After the prayer Mom
took Trina into the bathroom to wash her down a
bit in hopes that the fever wouldn't get higher.
Whil-e in the bathroom, Trina said, "Who is that,
Monmy? " Mom couldn't see anyone so she asked
Trina some questions. A lady was standing over
by the shower. She had long dark hair. Within
a short period of time Trina saw another person
in the back hall and a lady in the livingroomOne wore a beautiful dress, one a pair of grey
pants and aII their halr was long and dark either
straight or fancy. There was no fear for either
Mom or Trina as the prayer was literally
answered
with the appearance of these beautiful angels.
Trina was quite disappointed the next day that
there were no angels to see. Mom and Trlna had
a talk about angels and how special they are.
Mom
Trina was asked to give a talk
in the Primary. It was a regular privilege for her
as she had given two other talks prior to this time
for her Sunbeam c1ass. Each time Mother woulil ask
her what she would like to speak on but eventually
Mom would suggest a topic and they would work
on it together. This particufar time she immediately said .tesus. She knew that he was her older
brother, that he died for us that we rnight live
again, that he died on the cross, that he created
the world and the animals. She practical-ly had the

the sequence. it was soon done. The ending went like this
that Jesus loves all of you (meaning the children in primary)
and then Trina added, "and me too?,' Daddy hetped Trina with

ft was very impressive to knos/ how much Trina does love
Jesus and wants to share this with alt her friends in the
Primary.
