School Update: Now that the cold weather has hit, just a friendly
reminder that the doors will open at 8:45am for students to enter
the building. If students are here before 8:45am, they will have to
wait outside. Please have students dressed in warm clothing.
Interesting Facts about Snow………….



Snow forms when water vapor in the atmosphere freezes into ice crystals.
The highest snowfall ever recorded in a one year period was 1,224 inches in Mount
Rainier, Washing State, between February 19, 1971 and February 18, 1972.
Snow reflects a high level of ultraviolent radiation and can cause snow blindness.
Sunglasses, goggles and other eye protection help absorb the ultraviolent rays.

Enjoy an evening out! Send the kids to Parent's Night Out provided by Indian Ridge
PTO, sponsored by Advanced Orthodontics. Parent's Night Out is Friday, December
2nd, 6:30-8:45 PM. $8.00 per student, which includes pizza, snack and a drink along
with the movie "Finding Dory". Permission slips are required.
Want a break from cooking dinner? Chipotle (Quincy & Buckley location) is sponsoring
the PTO on Tuesday, December 6 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Come grab either dine-in or
take out and mention that you are there to support Indian Ridge!!

Before and After School Activities…………

Holiday Hockey. All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are invited to participate in the
annual Indian Ridge Holiday Hockey League. This will take place on Tuesday, Thursday,
and Friday from 8:00am to 8:45am in the gym until December 16th. If you have any
questions, please contact Mr. Alfonso.

Spanish Club. September thru May 2017. Kindergarten am/pm/enrichment and 1 st
grade, Tuesdays 3:30 to 4:25pm. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th, Tuesdays before school 7:55am
until 8:40am. Flyers are at the front office.

Mad Science is held Wednesdays from 3:40p to 4:40pm for grades 1st thru 5th. The price
is $89.00. The after school dates are November 2nd thru December 7th. Mad Science
will start again from February 22, 2017 thru April 5, 2017. This engaging and hands on
enrichment program offers many demonstrations and inquiry based experiments.
