Autumn Newsletter No.4
Friday 3rd October 2014
Dear Parents,
A warm welcome to our two new children, Noah and Toby and their family. They have already started making
new friends in Class 2 and across the school.
Thank you to Teresa Perrella, Ruth O Brien and Alex Wilson for inviting Class 2 to see the workings of their
eco-friendly farming community. The farm has green energy in the form of solar panels, they have their own
water supply and grow their own fruit and vegetables. The children helped with the harvest of squashes,
cucumbers, a huge variety of tomatoes and apples; some of which were tasted and some of the produce was
donated to harvest festival. Thank you it was a marvellous experience and Class 1 have been kindly invited next
week as part of the healthy eating cookery sessions this term. Thank you to parents who helped with transport
to this event.
The Whiteball Tunnel Community Arts project is now well underway and Class 3 children should have received a
letter with further details yesterday. My sincere apologies about the costume queries, we received different
messages. The letter you received this week has the definitive list.
The High 5 netballers and basketball teams started the Uffculme Cluster League Fixtures this week. Is was a
rapid reminder session on rules as well as skills development through the matches but much progress was made.
Thank you for the help with transport.
The next PTFA meeting is on Tuesday 7 th October at 7pm the Prince of Wales, please do come along. Please
support the PTFA as we are hoping they will fund a theatre trip visit to Exeter at Christmas!
The local branch of Hospiscare and the charity Force have asked me to thank everyone who went to their
Breakfast Brunch last weekend. They raised over £600! They have also asked me to say a huge thank you to
some pupils and a former pupil of Webber’s who worked tremendously hard waiting on tables and clearing dishes.
I feel extremely proud of their community service, well done Tilly Barker, Katie French, Katie and Emma
Bainbridge. 
We have two pairs of lovely little red shoes which are unnamed. If you know to whom they might belong to
please contact the school office.
Look out for our new reception intake photos in the Welly Weekly; their photos were taken this week.
Please remember to bring Bags 2 School on Monday first thing. The heavier the better!
It is our Harvest Festival this evening. Thank you for your donations to help support the homeless. Everyone is
welcome to the service and it is non-uniform and sitting with your families, we have learnt lovely new songs so
please do come along. There will be light refreshments after the service.
Please remember, if you have any worries or concerns or new ideas that we might explore, please don’t hesitate
to contact me at [email protected]
Kindest regards,
Deborah Eveleigh

One Big Day, Plymouth Saturday 8th November 2014
The vision of ONE Big DAY is to see children all over the UK joining together in celebrating God and having a lot
of fun together. ONE Big DAY is for children aged 5-11 and features morning workshops (loud and quiet) and
an afternoon Big party with live music, games, stories and loads more fun! We want it to be fun for adults too
(you're required to bring 1 adult for every 4 children) and so adults will help in the workshops but then will have
a chance to grab a cup of tea/coffee and cake at our Big Cafe while watching the Big party live on a screen.
Time: 10.30-2.30pm. Venue: Plymouth Christian Centre. Adults get in free. £6 per child Find out more at
