Minimise milking time, maximise your satisfaction r P2100 DeLaval parallel parlou Your solution – every day DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 More comfort in your milking parlour Being a dairy farmer is a tough and interesting job. You have to make the right decisions every day to protect your business and take it to the next level. So when you decide what you need now in your dairy parlour, DeLaval can deliver your complete integrated solution. Compact parlours for efficiency Designed for efficiency in milking, in walking, in indexing, DeLaval parallel parlours are very profitable milking systems. They enable high throughput with fast milking processes and quick changes from one group to the next: making DeLaval parallel parlours the first choice for your expanding enterprise or family farm. Short walking distances for cows and milking personnel are one of the greatest advantages of every DeLaval parallel parlour. The compact design also helps to keep building costs under control. DeLaval parallel parlours are equipped with air controlled indexing systems. This means that cows are pushed gently towards the milker pit after the cows have entered their milking point. When a group has been milked the cows are released via air controlled front exits. For DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 we have developed further features to make your life easier: confirming DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 as your obvious choice. 2 DeLaval design flow The very functional smooth design flow in DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 is designed for professional milking, in a modern working environment, with comfortable cows. The smooth design provides smooth surfaces that flow – from upper cabinets via conduits to curb cabinets, from light cabinets to pit edges. It enables speedy cleaning with vital working parts safely concealed underneath the gleaming cabinets – saving time and labour – and costs. DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 DeLaval P2100 – always high cow comfort Real milker comfort Milker comfort is provided by features that deliver a safe parlour. With a gutter as kick protection and sensible pit edge design, cows cannot step into the pit. The skilfully positioned butt pan helps keep the environment clean. And the milker! All the options are designed with milkers in mind: to support them in their tasks. Hose supports and LED udder spot lights enhance accurate positioning of the milking cluster; milk and pulse tubes can come from underneath the pit edge, the cluster cleaner is at the correct height, the light cabinet keeps sight lines clearly lit. And for the ultimate experience, the mobile DeLaval adjustable floor which can be adjusted up or down to suit the height of the milker provides for ergonomic comfort for milkers short or tall. Easy reach for milker comfort Real cow comfort We care for your cows, so DeLaval P2100 is designed for cows. Check these features which all contribute to cow comfort and fast milking: • Easy entry through the sliding entrance gate, with a wide walking lane to the milking place. • It is easy for cows to enter the milk place, with the wide, large turning area, and front exit segment open below. • Cows have a natural and comfortable position during milking since there are no horizontal bars. • Cows can leave the parlour after milking without having to lift their head above horizontal bars or other frames. 3 Robust and streamlined stall design The durable, attractive, robust framework is designed for a long lifetime, and the air controlled parlour system is reliable and easy to service. Bolted construction ensures the stall is secure, and extra thick metal plates are used for rump rails and pit edge. The butt pan and gutter come as standard in stainless steel, while other standard components like the pit edge have stainless steel as an option. Various optional components like upper, curb and light cabinets are also provided in stainless steel. DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 Sliding entrance gate and wide entrance lane Plenty of space to turn at the sequence gate P2100 – Real cow comfort Sliding entrance gate Cows have easy access into the parlour, as the sliding gate means no cow has to step back when the gate is opened. This low maintenance gate requires very little space and pushes the last cow gently into position when it closes. Wide entrance lane Cows feel comfortable right from the start, as the wide entrance lane has the space they need to enter the parlour. How is this possible? Even in this compact parlour the well designed DeLaval P2100 front exit creates generous space from the rump rail to the sequence gates. Protective butt pan The straight wide gutter, always with the tail guard, works well: cows stand close to the milker but the butt pan provides for safe and clean milking. The position and design of the gutter also works as kick protection. The way the butt pan and pit edge are positioned makes it impossible for cows to kick at milking personnel or step into the pit. Air controlled parlour This proven, reliable and cow friendly system moves and positions cows appropriately, with no excessive pressure on sensitive parts of the cow. It leaves cows enough space when they enter the parlour, as the front exit is then in the forward position. Indexing pushes the cows gently into the milking position, where it is easy for the milking personnel to reach them. The cows are always positioned close to the milker, for best comfort. The different air pressure levels required can each be set independently: medium pressure for the entrance gate, for movement that is fast enough but will not squeeze the cows; low pressure for indexing, keeping it soft and slow, and higher pressure for quick release through the front exit. 4 Easy to enter milking place Each cow enters the milking place in a natural position, head high or low, however she chooses. She perceives no barriers, and does not have to lift her head above a horizontal bar or into a frame. This easy loading means fast loading - and higher throughput. Adjustable neck rail So cows will fit comfortably in their milking place, the neck rail position is adjustable. This regulates the distance between the rail and the pit edge: adapting the space to the average length of the cows in your herd. Natural and comfortable position during milking Each cow can move their head up and down with no restrictions. You can often see cows ruminating while being milked in DeLaval parallel parlour P2100. In this natural position they are very relaxed, not stressed. DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 Natural position during milking Fast release of the entire batch Fast release of batch The natural position continues through the exit, as there is no need for any cow to lift their head above a barrier while exiting. This easy exit, leaving the parlour in a natural position, makes for fast exiting and again facilitates high throughput. Entrance gate pushes last cow gently into milking position Butt pan adapted to the natural shape of the cow Duplex cylinder for front exit and Indexing Adjustable neck rail position 5 DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 Comfort Start for fast cluster attachment Foldable cluster cleaner at the correct height Streamlined upper cabinets Automation options such as DeLaval milking point MPC510 or MPC610 are integrated into these gleaming stainless steel cabinets. Individual combinations of MPC510 and 610 are possible. The milking points have standard vacuum take offs, with air controlled take offs available for longer milking hours. Other options which may be integrated in the upper cabinet include balanced and sliding hose support. Udder spotlight Shining light directly on the working area, LED spotlights make clear where the action is. Placed between butt pan and upper cabinet the lights are slightly tilted to shine onto the udder area. These spotlights can be added later, in any parlour with a DeLaval P2100 upper cabinet. Naturally the lights are designed to cope with the moisture and ammonia found in the tough parlour environment. Safe milking Indexing automatically positions cows directly at the butt pan and close to the milker, but fear not. Milking through the rear legs is always safe, as nervous cows cannot reach the milker. Cows cannot kick the milker or step into the pit – the way the butt pan and pit edge are positioned relative to each other makes it impossible. Light cabinets Indirect lighting at the work face is integrated in this design flow. The compact stainless steel cabinets hold standard fluorescent light fittings, shining light from one side of the parlour to the other to brighten up milking sessions. Curb cabinet This stainless steel cabinet provides a protected environment for equipment positioned below the cows. It can have doors for sensors, milk meters and cluster cleaners. It holds the cluster cleaner at the correct height for the milker. Flexibility in installation means that the curb cabinet can always be added to the stainless steel P2100 pit edge. It will not have doors for milk meters in a parlour which has a basement installation. Milk hoses and pulse tubes will come from underneath the pit edge for most automation combinations. DeLaval P2100 for real milker comfort 6 Milking starts swiftly Speed up cluster attachment with time saving convenient DeLaval ComfortStart. The milker just has to lift the cluster and attach it: no button pushing is needed. DeLaval ComfortStart provides a smart combination of fast start, comfortable and easy attachment of cluster, and smooth retraction after the cow has finished milking. It can be used with any type of vacuum controlled take off. DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 The right solutions in the right place – for highly satisfactory milking routines Excellent view – great access to your cows Cluster alignment Two cluster alignment choices are offered, counter balance or sliding hose supports. Counter balance hose supports are not in the way of the milker, and the milk hoses are always in same position which supports correct cluster positioning. A further advantage is that the tubes are not lying on the floor, so the hoses are always clean. Sliding hose supports can be fitted underneath the butt pan. They can slide along easily from one cow to another. Individual adjustment is possible and the tube holders can be folded away with one hand. The hose supports are designed for use with any DeLaval milking clusters. Free view When milk and pulse tubes come from below the pit edge the milker has very clear sight lines and a good overview of the work place. Pulse tubes are no longer in the way of the milker. Nothing disturbs the milker while he/she prepares the cows for milking. Udder lights highlight the action area 7 DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 Milking points fully integrated in upper cabinet DeLaval MPC610 – your full access to ALPRO™ herd management ALPRO milking units – the link to your herd management DeLaval MPC510 has the essential functions you need during milking. As a special plus it includes the sort once function. DeLaval MPC610 provides further information about individual cows. There is remote access from MPC610 to any specific MPC510, and data transfer to and from ALPRO herd management via MPC610. These MPC units are the link to all sensors and milk meters, and both units include individual per place controlled pulsation and flow controlled stimulation as standard. Milk flow sensors Choose compact DeLaval flow sensor HFC with no internal moving parts, or alternatively the well proven DeLaval flow sensor FI2 with float switch. This unit can be opened without tools, providing easy access for service. DeLaval MP400 can be combined with DeLaval milk flow sensor FI2, or DeLaval milk yield indicator FI5 or ICAR approved DeLaval milk meter MM25. ALPRO milking units – with full cabinet integration The horizontal stainless steel cabinets with attractive rounded flow design provide perfect protection for all the integrated components in a constant clean environment. As a special option, it is possible to choose between vacuum or air controlled take off cylinders for extra long milking hours. Service access is easy, with fingertip touch on a smart latch all that is needed to open and close the cabinets. 8 Milk yield indicators DeLaval milk yield indicator FI5 provides a digital display of milk yield. It gives a good constant indication of milk yield and actual milk flow with an alternating display which switches from one value to the other. It has no moving parts. It can be installed in a curb cabinet with cut out for display. ICAR approved milk meter DeLaval milk meter MM15 and MM25 offer you a choice. DeLaval MM15 measures the exact milk weight in a real weighing cup. It is easy to calibrate, and well accepted by officials and milk recording associations. DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 DeLaval MM25 – high accuracy with near infrared measuring principle DeLaval MM25 – the actual milk yield is always visible. DeLaval MM25 with near infrared measuring principle DeLaval milk meter MM25 displays milk yield digitally and it has no moving parts. Installed in combination with a curb cabinet it is visible through a transparent window. It is a very compact design and is suitable for both standalone and system applications. DeLaval multireader – walk-by identification system Highly accurate cow identification is provided by DeLaval multireader. Using this multireader identification system gives more flexibility for planning entrance widths. Alternatively the proven blue portal ID can be used. DeLaval MM15 measures the real milk weight 9 DeLaval HFC flow sensor has no moving parts inside DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 DeLaval P2100 - extra strong components DeLaval P2100 – your parlour can do more Deck flush Deck flush nozzles squirt jets of water to clean the cow platform. One nozzle per cow stall is designed to be integrated in the vertical part of the pit edge. Cows cannot step on the nozzles which are not visible from the pit. Deck flush is a good example of component integration, and provides very effective support for the milking process. Adjustable floor For ultimate milker comfort. The nonslippery surface of DeLaval adjustable floor is always clean and because it is flexible it is much less tiring for milkers during long milking hours. Feet, legs, and backs benefit from this flexible floor surface, and it is even more appreciated in the version that is adjustable for different milker heights. Of course a fixed floor can be installed if an adjustable floor is not needed. Save installation time and costs DeLaval P2100 is designed for simple speedy installation. The bolted construction means the components are easy to ship, easy to handle on site, and fast and easy to install. This all reduces installation time and costs. There are only a few parts, such as the butt pan, which require welding. This sensible design also allows for later expansion, or for adding components not included in the first installation. Extra strong material for extra safety Extra strong frames and front exit posts provide durability and safety in this parlour. When you take a second look, you can see the 3 mm thick metal sheets for butt pan and pit edges. The butt pan is always supplied in stainless steel, while pit edges are available in stainless steel as an option. The steel fittings keep their shape securely over a long life span. 10 Installers like the real pit edge overhang You’ll appreciate it too, as it reduces installation time and your costs. It needs no local shuttering, simplifies the alignment of the pit edge during installation – and facilitates the streamlined look of the entire installation. Carrier rail The carrier rail is another option to make milkers happy in this parlour. It makes it possible to keep the pit floor clear, with no buckets, cans and papers on the floor. Fingertip control is all that is needed to push carriers from one place to the other, so supplies and consumables can always be available where and when you need them. After milking buckets can be pushed to the machine or milk room to dispose of waste and refill with teat dips and udder towels. DeLaval parallel parlour P2100 DeLaval P2100 - bolted construction for fast installation Open pit – Breezeway – installations With the Breezeway flat floor, milkers walk straight into the parlour as there are no steps to climb down. This is very convenient for milking personnel, and supports faster milking. It allows for placement of the receiver outside the parlour pit; less equipment in the parlour, less contact with moisture, and a cleaner working environment. Basement installation Basement installation requires one room located underneath the milker pit, in which some of the milking equipment can be installed. It provides a clean environment for pulsators, sensors and milk meters. Access for servicing equipment is very easy, and this clean space prolongs equipment life span. After several years the components still look new. A special plus for the milking personnel is that when the pulsators are installed in the basement, there is no pulsator noise in the milker pit.
