JURY ANNOUNCED FOR MEADOWS MUSEUM’S MOSS/CHUMLEY AWARD
DALLAS (SMU) (October 16, 2012)–The following individuals have been named to the jury
for Meadows Museum’s 2011 Moss/Chumley Award:
Joan Davidow - director emeritus, Dallas Contemporary
Heyd Fontenot - artist and director of Central Trak, University of Texas at Dallas Artists
Residency
George T. Lee, Jr. – attorney at law; Meadows Museum Advisory Council member
Lucia Simek - artist and writer; contributor to D Magazine’s FrontRow blog
Kevin Vogel – owner, Valley House Gallery; Meadows Museum Advisory Council member
Nicole Atzbach – assistant curator, Meadows Museum
Shelley DeMaria – curatorial assistant, Meadows Museum
Iraida Rodríguez-Negron – Meadows/Kress/Prado fellow, Meadows Museum
The museum is accepting applications through Monday, November 5, 2012 from area
artists for the 2011 Moss/Chumley Award. The award, which carries a cash prize of
$1,500, is given annually to an outstanding North Texas artist who has exhibited
professionally for at least ten years and who has a proven track record as an active
community advocate for the visual arts. The competition is accepting entries in the
genres of drawing, painting, sculpture, assemblage, construction, video, photography,
performance, and installation. To be eligible, an artist must reside in one of the following
North Texas counties: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker,
Rockwall, Tarrant or Wise. Those who would like additional information or entry forms
