If I pluck a string on the guitar generating a
fundamental note f1 and many of its harmonics,
and then lightly touch my finger to a point in the
middle of the string,
the harmonics of the note I hear after touching
are
a)2f1 , 3f1, 4f1, 5 f1, etc.
b) f1, 2f1,3f1,4f1, 5 f1, etc.
c)2f1, 4f1, 6f1, 8f1, 10 f1, etc.
d)2f1, 3f1, 4f1, 5f1,6f1, etc.
5) none of the above
If I touch my finger to a guitar string in the
middle and then pluck one side of the string, the
harmonics of the note I hear are of course F1,
2F1, 3F1, 4F1, etc. where F1 = 2 f1, of the last
question.
What harmonics could I hear in this latter case:
a) f1, 2f1, 3f1, 4f1, 5 f1, etc.
b) f1, 3 f1, 5 f1, 7 f1, etc.
c) 3f1, 5f1, 7, f1, 9f1, etc.
d) 2f1, 4f1, 6f1, 8f1, etc.
e) none of the above
