The Institute Colosimo was born in 1916 in order to manage the cultural training and insertion of the blind into the working world, showing already a modern vision to reclaim, for the visually impaired, the dignity of men and citizens. The artist, Annalaura di Luggo, decided topresent her «Blind Vision» project in this historical Institute that has never been opened to the public before. At 17.00 pm Blind Vision Vernissage will open at the presence of the artist Annalaura di Luggo and will include her multimedia installation curated by Raisa Clavijo with audio contribute of sound designer Paky Di Maio, the scene photos exhibition by Sergio Siano and the screening of the documentary by Nanni Zedda in the spectacular theater. Welcome cocktail will follow. Return to the hotel by private transfer. II Day – Friday, April 28 Breakfast in the Hotel; Pick-‐up in the selected hotel by private transfer for a very exclusive visit of the juvenile prison of Nisida at the presence of the artist. This location has been choosen by the artist di Luggo for her artistic installation Never give up created in an isolation cell and dedicated to underage prisoners vision. The access will be only guaranteed upon sending one moth before the copy of the passport to create special passes to be authorized . Brief introduction speech and light lunch prepared by Juvenile prisoners cooking school. In the afternoon: walking tour with an English speaking guide and visit of the center of Naples San Carlo Opera House. Next to the main Square of Naples, “Piazza Plebiscito” raises this theater that is one of the symbols of the town, whose foundation precedes the Scala theatre in Milan of 41 years and the Fenice theatre in Venice of 55 years. In 1737 the first king of Bourbon, Charles III , became the promoter of the project that combined magnificence and wonder together : the construction of the theatre! At 20:00 p.m. Blind Dinner Gala . III Day – Saturday, April 29 Breakfast in the Hotel; Pick-‐up in the hotel with a private transfer to the harbour and by private motor boat FIART MARE transfer to Capri; Visit of the island; Lunch at “da Gioia” restaurant in Marina Piccola of Capri. After lunch up with typical taxi of the place and with an english speaking guide, visit of Capri: the famous piazzetta, view Faraglioni and the Tiberius gardens. Return by private boat back to Naples; Dinner at “Transatlantico” restaurant, on the sea. pick of IV Day –Sunday, April 30 Breakfast in the Hotel; Pick-‐up by private transfer to Pompeii and visit with an English speaking guide of the archaeological excavations of Pompeii. Lunch at the famous restaurant “Il Principe”. Return to Naples and walking tour, with an English speaking guide in the historical city center of Naples to discover the masterpieces and art history: Sansevero Chapel Museum, San Gregorio Armeno and Santa Chiara Cathedral. Return to the hotel by private coach . Pizza in a typical Neapolitan restaurant. Pompeii is the most famous archaeological site in the world. The city, destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in the 79 a.C. has been unearthed, with its painted walls, mosaics, statues, columns, temples, the Theater. In 1997, UNESCO declared Pompeii World Heritage, since the remains of the city are an extraordinary testimony of the society and everyday life in a moment of the past, impossible to find an equivalent in any other part of the world! The Sansevero Chapel Museum in the historic heart of Naples is a jewel of the world’s artistic heritage. Here, baroque creativity, dynastic pride, beauty and mystery blend to create a unique and almost timeless atmosphere. With its masterpieces such as the famous Veiled Christ, renowned world over for the remarkable tissue-‐like quality of the marble, feats of virtuosity such as Disillusion, and enigmatic creations such as the Anatomical Machines, the Sansevero Chapel is one of the most impressive monuments that the human mind has ever conceived. V Day – Monday, May 1 Departure of the group or for those who remain there is the possibility to visit the Galleria Borbonica. The Gallery was built in 1853 by Ferdinand II of Bourbon, who, concerned about the outbreak of rebellion, asked for an escape from the Royal Palace. The path intercepted the network of tunnels and cisterns linked to the ancient aqueduct of Carmignano (1627-‐1629) who served the city of Naples. During the Second World War, the Tunnel and the adjacent cavities were used as a military hospital during the numerous bombing.
