Capitol National Bank Receives Prestigious SBA Preferred Lender

WINTER 2015
Capitol National Bank Receives
Prestigious SBA Preferred
Lender Designation
Capitol National Bank (CNB) has substantially
improved its SBA loan approval process now that it
has gained recognition from the U.S. Small Business
Administration (SBA) as a preferred lender participant
(PLP) for its 7(a) Loan Program.
“We focus on providing financial solutions for small
businesses and the SBA Preferred Lender designation
enables us to expedite the borrowing process for our
customers,” said Steven J. Pricco, CNB’s Director of
Government Guaranteed Lending. “This achievement
Steven J. Pricco,
not only recognizes our lending expertise, but also Director of Government
Guaranteed Lending
indicates the SBA’s confidence in our abilities.”
A Preferred Lender is considered an expert in SBA regulations and guidelines
as well as granted the authority to act as a direct agent of the federal agency.
As a result, small business loans approved by CNB are automatically approved
by the SBA. Non-PLP lenders, seeking SBA benefits and protections for small
business loans, are required to gain separate SBA approval, a process that can
often delay a loan’s availability for weeks if not months.
Pricco pointed out that an SBA loan obtained through CNB can be used
for business acquisition or start up, purchase or renovation of real estate,
leasehold improvements, purchase or upgrade equipment, and refinance of
existing business debt or working capital. Program participants are privy to
longer-term loans up to $5 million with flexible equity requirements.

Testimonials
“It pleases me to see that the
legacy that Bob Carr created at
the bank and in its community
has lived on. The level of support
that I have recently received from
Ronda Thompson takes me back
to the feeling of confidence I had
18 years ago when Bob supported
me through some tough times. I
am thankful that Capitol National
Bank has been there for me since
1998 to help and celebrate so
many successes with my business
and me.”
– Sally Corbin, CEO and Owner
of Union Services Agency
“I started my business in 1990 and
opened my account in Okemos
with Capitol National Bank. In
the 25 years that we have been
doing business, Capitol National
Bank has been our bank. They
have been more than a bank. They
have helped my family build 2
different homes, we have worked
with them on multiple financing
projects for new equipment and
last year, they helped us finance
the purchase of our new 10,000
square foot production facility that
our business currently resides in.
They have always provided us with
a multitude of services but have
never lost their personal touch.”

“All of these organizations do an incredible job to help those in need
in our community,” said Linnea Snodgrass, executive administrative
assistant and Non-profit Committee chair for CNB. “Our team is proud
that we were able to give back to many nonprofit organizations by
raising money in a way that is also fun and inspiring to our employees.”
Employees raised money for all of these organizations by paying
$5 to wear jeans to work on Fridays. Each year, employees of CNB
participate in various activities to support different charities selected
by the Nonprofit Committee.
This year’s largest donation recipient was Angel House, a Child and
Family Charity that provides a residential program for at-risk pregnant
and parenting girls. Angel House received $745 from CNB.
“This generous donation has helped us to fulfill our mission of helping
young mothers become nurturing parents and productive members
of the community,” said Dori Branson, director of Child and Family
Charities: Angel House. “We could not be more thankful for Capitol
National Bank’s support in what we do.”
