How insulation works and how Insul8deco works in your building
This fact sheet will help you understand how insulation works and how INSUL8deco works in
your building.
To understand how insulation work, let's start by explaining the transfer of heat
The transfer of heat
The transfer of heat (or heat loss) occurs in 3 ways :
Conduction, convection and radiation.

Conduction is the transfer of heat through solid objects.
• Example: When it's cold outside, uninsulated walls and windows become cooler
on the inside.
• Result: More energy is required to replace the heat lost warming the inside of the
walls and windows.
• Preventive Measures: Insulation (fiberglass matts / .rolls or blown cellulose),
low-e insulated windows, storm windows and storm doors slow the migration of
heat energy and help maintain the temperature in the conditioned space.
Slowing the energy transfer saves on the amount of energy needed to maintain
the conditioned space.
Convection is the transfer of heat through liquids or gases.
• Example: When cold air enters your home, it mixes with warm air. Heat energy is
transferred to the cooler air, and the overall temperature of the room is lowered.
• Result: More energy is required to replace the heat transferred to the cooler air.
• Preventive Measures: Weatherstripping, house wrap, caulk and expanding foam
greatly reduce the uncontrolled flow of air into or out of your home. Reducing
the uncontrolled flow of air into or out of the home reduces the amount of
energy needed to heat unconditioned air.

Thermal radiation
Radiation is the transfer of heat through space in the form of electromagnetic energy.
This is how INSUL8deco works!
The primary source of infrared radiation is heat or thermal radiation.
This is the radiation produced by the motion of atoms and molecules in an object.
Any object which has a temperature i.e. anything above absolute zero (-459.67degrees
Fahrenheit or -273.15 degrees Celsius or 0 degrees Kelvin), radiates in the infrared.
Even objects that we think of as being very cold, such as an ice cube, emit infrared.
(This is because an ice cube emits infrared of 273ºK or 0ºC.)
When an object is not quite hot enough to radiate visible light, it will emit its energy in
the infrared. For example, hot charcoal may not give off light but it does emit infrared
radiation which we feel as heat. The warmer the object, the more infrared radiation it
emits.
This energy is made visual by an IR-meter. Here you can see an infrared image of a
landing space shuttle that shows how the tiles underneath the shuttle have been
heated during re-entry.

To explain heat loss, we compare a cup of soup with a
building
If you pour hot soup into a plastic cup, the soup will quickly get cold.
This is like a house without any insulation.
=
If you pour the soup into a foam cup, the soup will keep it the right temperature for a
longer time.
This compares to a insulated house. This compares to a building built between 1980
and 2000.

Finally, let's add a cover on the foam cup.

This is what we get. This compares to a building built between 1980 and 2000. If your
building was built before that time, you'll probably have less or totally none insulation
at all, excepts for walls and windows to keep away the cold wind.

To protect your hot soup from getting cold, you can ad an extra effect. Alumnium foil.
This is the technology what we are offering.
We offer you the best solution that will bring you daily comfort. Effective, easy in
application and as thin as aluminium foil! It will at the same time wrap up your home
and lift up your interior as we offer you 15 trendy colors.
Insulating interior paint
Insul8deco blocks the transfer of heat outward when applied to paint on interior walls
and ceilings, effectively providing year-round comfort in the home. Reflects up to 30%
of your airco and heating radiation back into the room. The radiation is being redirected into the room where it is being absorbed and reflected by the furniture and
people in the room. The radiation is recycled and will re-heat the room with less
heating and cooling requirements as result.
It acts in a manner similar to foil radiant barrier film which is commonly used in the
construction industry.
The insulation paint is bonus insulation for your interior walls.

Here you can see the reflection values of some of our different colors.
No mould or damp creation.
Our solution is based on a waterborne acrylic, just like a normal interior paint. So our
solutions is breathable. No damp or mould is created.
