1. Download Activation key (1) and save it on your computer.
2. Download Installation/activation guide (2) and save it on your computer.
3. Download installation media (3), an ISO file and save it on your computer. Which one you
select depends on what kind of system you have (Linux, Mac or Windows).
4. Follow the instructions in the Installation/activation guide. See below for instructions on
how to handle the ISO file.
ISO files
The ISO file is a so called image file. That means it is an exact copy of the installation DVD. You have
several options to install.
1. Burn ISO to a DVD and install from it.
2. Mount ISO file as a virtual DVD and install from it.
3. Extract content from ISO file and install from folder.
Pick one of the methods that you feel comfortable with. It does not matter which one, they all give
the same result. They are explained below if you need assistance with them.
1. If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 it is very easy to burn an ISO file. You just need a DVD
burner and an empty DVD disc. Insert the empty disc into your DVD. Navigate to where you saved
the ISO file in Explorer. Right click the ISO file in Explorer and select Open with > Windows Disc
Image Burner. Wait until the burning process is done. Open Explorer and navigate to your DVD drive.
Run the installation program to start the installation. If you have Windows XP you use the burning
software. Remember to burn as an image, not regular content. See your burning software help files
if you need help with this. When you are done, run the installation program to start the installation.
2. There are special software that creates virtual drives on your computer. Virtual Daemon Manager
is one of them. Virtual Daemon Manager can be found at http://www.daemontools.cc/eng/downloads. Download and install Daemon Tools Lite. The installation may want to
install 3rd party tools like web browser toolbar. Do not install them since they are not required.
After the installation you may have to reboot. Virtual Daemon places itself in the system tray (right
next to the clock in the lower right). Click on its icon and mount your virtual DVD by browsing to the
ISO file. When that is done, open Explorer and look for the new virtual DVD. Depending on your
system it can be called E:, F:, G:, etc. Run the installation program to start the installation.
3. If you have 7-Zip installed (http://www.7-zip.org/) you can open the ISO file by right clicking the
ISO file (navigate to the file in Explorer) and selecting Open archive from the 7-Zip menu. This will
open up the ISO file so you can see its content. Extract all files to a new location. Note that this
option will use up a lot of your hard disk space. Browse to the new location in Explorer and run the
installation program to start the installation.
